Nice job, pym! New hip, healthy sober lifestyle. . . hmm, there are a lot of options out there for a personal next-step. Hair Club for Men? (Nah, that assumes you need it, which may not be the case at all. . . ) Go full-Vegan? Ohhh, you'd be a stronger man than I. . . !
I'd recommend raising backyard ducks. . . but. . . I don't think I could wish that on a friend. . .

Buscema ... from that return run he made? I remember that actually brought me back into the fold after a short absence. That and the fact it was the first time that The Black Knight was an actual, in residence, full time Avenger. Thank you for the kind words

Hi all,
Though the dates of latest posts is more than a little worrying. I am a fan of Avengers going back to when i was 5 in 1972 when i read my first story - B&W reprint of the lava men in a British marvel comic. I have every single Avengers comic from the start up until 2013 - yep all of them. Including all of the New, Mighty, Young, Pet, Last, Solo, Military issues, etc, etc. The only one I don't have is the cereal giveaway one from the early days.
So what's good and interesting on this site?

So what's good and interesting on this site? Not trying to be a naysayer, but this site is pretty dead. I have filled the void with the Websites.....Bronze Age Babies, and Marvel Comics of the 1980s....they are still active, as far as I know. I also suggest a FANTASTIC magazine called BACK ISSUE!....they have a Facebook page that is very entertaining, too. Also, if you have iTunes or another way to get audio podcasts, VAN PLEXICO, the guy who started this site has a podcast called AVENGERS ASSEMBLE WHITEROCKET podcast, pretty good, there's only been 5 or 6 so far. I check in every once in a while still, but rarely see any activity or feedback..... I love the Avengers, too. I just got back from Walmart with CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR DVD, its pretty much an AVENGERS movie, excellent. welcome, though. starfoxxx

I agree with Starfoxxx. This used to be a very fun site to visit and we have had many interesting conversations. It's great to see someone new. Unfortunately, most of us that are regulars here have stopped buying the books. I think I can speak for MOST of us when I say that it's not because we stopped loving the Avengers though. It's more like the Avengers we love no longer exist in print and haven't for some time. Our love for the old books is as strong as ever but you run out of things to talk about with the same people about the same books. On the other hand, we all seem to be quite pleased with the quality of the movies. That might be the best place to get something going again - or any topic regarding the Avengers dating back 10 years or more. I for one simply can't comment on current happenings because I'm not reading the books but would love to have some Avengers discussions.
Perhaps another starting place would be to find out what books everyone is currently reading or have bought recently (If any). For me, it's a very short and odd list of things that don't tie in too much to the main Marvel titles - Hell-cat, Silver Surfer, Ant-man, Hercules, and the one issue of Civil War 2 that featured Power Pack. Yep, 'fraid that's it.

Heya StealthRevenge--
Thought we could bring some further discussion back over to this thread, as the ASSEMBLED 2 thread seemed kind of an odd venue for it.
Let me 2nd SFX's recommendation of the Bronze Age Babies site-- LOVE that place! Extremely nice group of folks run by two former mainstays of this very forum (Doug & Karen).
But still-- having a new Avenger-centric individual pop their head in here started gettin' all of the old eager questions a-bubbling to the frontal of my cortex (or something). . . so I'm gonna go ahead and give you the ol' once-over if you're up for it, yeah? (And if you're not, well heck, no casualties incurred-!)
A) Curious as to what you would claim as "Your" Avengers team? The one that you sub-consciously think of as the "real" Avengers. For folks on this forum it's almost w/out exception been a matter of Patterning. The first Avengers comic or two that one reads becomes the team that one identifies with. Earlier teams are ancient history. . . later teams are viewed as when the team "changed". You're in an odd position of starting w/ an old reprint (Avengers #6, would that be?) in 1972. Did that mostly-original team, then, become "your" Avengers-- or was there some way for you to pick up with the teams current exploits at the time? Man-- were you in the mid-70's, and pulling your hair out over the outrage of Cap's Kooky Quartet-?? Gosh--
B) Do you have a particular favorite Team-member? Along with that-- do you have all-star team of 7 you'd love to see?
C) Bomber jackets. Do you find them:
a) A refreshing take on visual team identity b) A stylish nod to the fashion mores of the era c) Totally awesome/want to buy one for yourself someday d) All of the above
[What? What?? C'mon guys-- it's a legitimate question-!]

Hey folks (if anyone's listening!),
I've only just joined this forum, in search of fans of the Avengers (pre-movies) like myself. As a comic book fan, I have had the members of a community that I'm one of the founders of (#HorizonLabs, on Twitter and Facebook) to geek-out with, but unfortunately I've never found anyone with the same passion for the Avengers as I have within that group. Folks have come together because of #HorizonLabs and bonded over their love for Spider-Man (for example), but I've never found anyone with the same love for Earth's Mightiest as I have. Hence: I am here!
I'm now 32, and have been reading and collecting comic books since I was about 14 (although like so many, my love for Marvel became part of my DNA because of the animated shows when I was a kid - and let's not forget endless Bixby and Ferrigno weekend re-runs!). In my teens, it was about grabbing any Marvel title I could from wherever I could find it - living out in the sticks of the UK certainly didn't make that easy! When I was 19 and came to Uni here in Norwich (UK), I properly started to read, collect and learn about the Avengers - and now pride myself on my knowledge (which I am always happy to be humbled on!), passion and dedication to the books, both pre and post-movie.
Just to clarify: I love the MCU stuff too - nowt wrong with it! When I say that I'm looking for pre-movie fans, I mean those - like me - who followed and loved the Avengers before they lead the MCU franchise, through leather jackets, Crossings, Reborns, and the rest - both classic and modern. Don't get me wrong, it's not a flawless franchise - I for one still have my feathers ruffled by 'Avengers 1959'
I can be found on Twitter, @ Refgemlin which is my primary comic book geekery outlet. When I can find time between work and enjoying my hobbies, I write Avengers articles on the #HorizonLabs website called 'Tea with Jarvis', which I would like to think have gotten better as I write more of them! I enjoy UK comic conventions and work at New York Comic Con most years, as part of SuperHeroStuff.com.
Hopefully I can enjoy some Avengers discussions on here, and as I get to know some of you, perhaps in other realms too!

Hello and welcome! I am pretty much a silver age fan but kept reading into the mid 90's. I think The Crossing was the storyline that signaled the end for me. I really don't have any knowledge of the past 20 years, so it is difficult to participate concerning that area. What I can tell you is that there are many outstanding people here on this site. Smart, witty and friendly. You are in the right place. Welcome and have fun!

Hello to all newcomers!
I'm one of the newer members, probably one of the few, if not the only one, who reads the current Avengers title(s). I caught onto the team (and Marvel in general) way back in the early 80s, have a fondness for them and their history and I'm still willing to see what Marvel does with them currently (especially after the success of the MCU). Some of it good, some of it...not so good.
SW asked a good question, what current titles (if any) are members reading?
My current Marvel reading list is thus:
The main Avengers title Mighty Thor Unworthy Thor Invincible Iron Man Infamous Iron Man Amazing Spider-Man (along with current event Clone Conspiracy) Spider-Man Renew Your Vows Extraordinary X-Men Uncanny X-Men All-New X-Men (along with current event Death of X) Daredevil Champions

I'm currently reading all of the on-going/new Avengers titles (so I won't bother listing them), as well as trade-waiting:
Nova Squadron Supreme Champions
I'm also going to grab 'Unworthy Thor' the second it's available to pre-order as a TPB. I need to catch up on Aaron's Jane/Thor run, but I couldn't miss Odinson and Bill!
I also pick up the Avengers K (Korean) adaptions, and am going to be taste-testing the new Thanos run, Hulk (with Jennifer), Unstoppable Wasp and Hawkeye books, likely to move straight to trade-waiting if their series are good. Oh, and Strange/Punisher: Magic Bullets looks good, too!

Hi, pym! I'm still here, though I sadly don't get to drop in as often as I'd like. I'm loving seeing the continued success of the Avengers films ,I'm stoked about the Fantastic Four returning on the comics front & yes, Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird is still my favorite female character in comics...
