hi everybody' i have been an avenger fan since i started reading the The New Avengers comic book' i started reading it because, it had Spiderman, on the Team, and also because i thought the book was awesome, Captain America, is my favorite Avenger, after Spiderman, i also like the other members too, i have also seen the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Animated Series, and i have also seen the Avengers Movie, which i thought was a awesome Movie, i am also looking forward to seeing the new Avengers Animated Series, and the next Movie. Aaaaand Spiderman1984 comes through on the homework assignment-- automatic bonus points! (Although, dude-- you're staying up too late! 3:16 a.m.---yikes! Better get a nap today, I'm thinkin'. . . ) It's interesting that Spidey joining the team is what brought you into the Avengers, 'cause there tends to be some debate on this board about whether Spidey belongs on the team or not, yet clearly that was the primary draw for you. Mission Accomplished, yes? HB

Even though I consider myself Old School, I don't mind Spidey on the team. Let's not forget, he tried to join the Fantastic Four around 1963 - until he found it they don't pay. He's also nearly joined the Avengers before, as I recall, and John Byrne had him on the team (for all of two issues - before Fabien Nicezia had Cap boot him off as soon as Byrne left) in 1990. Plus, some see Spidey as a loner, I see him as sociable and gregarious, so I don't see why he wouldn't work well on a team. Heck, the guy's have about 2,753 team-ups with other superheroes anyway. What does bug me is Wolverine joining the team. He doesn't belong on the team for a variety of reason (anti-social, doesn't fit into the Avengers "play nice" creed, already belongs on something like 7 mutant teams plus 3 solo books) and that, even more so than Spidey joining the team, is a shameless (but unfortunately successful) attempt to increase readership by adding a popular character to the team for no good reason. Frankly, I also hate that so many X-Men have joined the team, and while I like Daredevil, it’s been pointed out before that he doesn’t join a team because so many people around interferes with his super sharp senses. Then again, I shouldn’t be surprised, as Bendis has constantly proven himself either ignorant or disrespectful of the comics history that has gone on before he showed up.

Hope you'll have a good time here. It can get very quiet at times, but things always pick up again eventually.

I also hope I have posted this properly.Sorry if I haven't. TinCanGal (Hm-- TCG? TinCG? TCGal? Boy, you've got lots of great potential derivatives, there-!), you honor us with your leap of faith. Yep, you've totally posted properly-- and your voice is an incredibly welcome one, as your demographic is one that we would love to have better represented 'round here (if I may speak for the bunch of us? 'Zat cool, folks?). This is a refreshingly flame-free bunch, even when disagreements happen. They pretty much run along the lines of "Wow, I can't believe you think Dr. Druid was the greatest Avenger ever, dude-- but that's okay. We like ya anyhow. . . ". And that's about as rough as it gets these days. Well, and there IS a completely unjustifiable bias against bomber-jackets. . . A nice introductory question we toss out a lot is, "Which team of Avengers do you think of as YOUR team?" It's very often like a baby bird patterning on its mother, as it seems to be the team that the individual first started with. That's who the "real" team always sort of is to that person. Which, wow, could even be the movie team, in your case. When you've got a minute, go ahead and let us know. All the writing's good for the other (non-science!) side of your brain, eh? HB PS-- hey, do we dare ask you about your attachment to Doctor Who?

Long Live Bomber Jackets and Red Safari Jackets! Welcome Tincangal! (Hm, the nickname Tintin springs to mind, but I'm not sure how you'd feel about that). You mentioned watching the cartoons. Which ones? (Not sure how they'd be changed over there in England unless you watched them online). Going to college to study science? Sounds great although we must ask, are you studying to be the next Reed Richards or the next Doctor Doom? Just asking, which fields are you studying?

It's always nice to have a conversation with like minded people, and since nobody I know collects comics (that I know of) let alone Avengers, well, that's why I'm here too.

So pym, are you out of the hospital yet? Or do you have a more extended stay as you embark on rigorous physical therapy? Man, don't shirk on that, now, y'hear? Punch your therapist, if necessary, but keep pushin' through-!

Thank you, my friend. Got home Thursday evening Surgery was a success. Pt is rather painful, but I am progressing rapidly. The staff were great and the bacon was even better. I'll be playing piano before you know it. Have a great weekend.

Although, good grief, I imagine the cardiac department may have wanted to have a few choice words with the chef. . . One of the most blisteringly spicy and delicious spaghetti sauces I ever tasted was during a hospital stay, actually--- can still bring it to my mind's tongue, as it were. . . HB

It's funny ... the things we take for granted. Simple, everyday things. I am so happy that I can finally sleep on my side again. Right side only, for now. It will be a bit longer for the other side.

I'm thinking you may have more of a Don Blake/Thor dynamic goin' on. . . ! You'll want to practice that whole pressing-on-with-stoic-determination-while-never-uttering-a-word-of-complaint thingy. TOTAL chick-magnet, I'm tellin' ya-! In fact, maybe you should try using that ridiculously gnarled log that Don was fond of in Thor's earlier appearances-! And wear a lab coat all the time. . . like even at dinner. . . yeah, you've got opportunity just a-knockin' at your door here, pym. . . Say, what was Don Blake's specific affliction, anyhow? I'd always assumed it was a bad or weak hip, since he was still quite mobile and active. The cane seemed to serve more in the capacity of taking the weight burden over the course of a busy day, rather than being something to literally enable him to walk. . . (a little OT, yes, but one does get curious. . . ) HB
