This is for all of us old folks who are dissatisified with the current state of Avenging.
What's your fantasy Avengers story? Writer, artists, line-up, villain... If you were in charge for a day, what would you do?
Writer: Steve Englehart Artists: John Buscema, Tom Palmer Line-up: Cap, IM, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Mantis, Swordsman, Beast Villain: Annihilus, Blastaar, and general Negative Zone thugs Multi-parter, starts with Iron Man and the Beast working in the lab. They need a certain element to finish whatever it is they are working on. They contact Reed Richards, T'Challa -- nobody knows where to get what they need. Reed suggests that he once had some readings while in the Negative Zone, and it would be worth a look. And so the adventure begins...

Writer: Roger Stern or Jim Shooter Artist: Kieron Dwyer Lineup: Captain America, Spitfire, Namor, the Original Torch, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Firestar Villain: Ultron primarily I'd like to see a story that puts a more realistic face on what a shootout with Ultron in downtown New York would really entail.

I'd like to see a story that puts a more realistic face on what a shootout with Ultron in downtown New York would really entail. RSC You mean like massive devastation? Shooter always liked those knockdown dragout high power matches. That would be nice to see. More Avengers-Annihilus action would be nice to see too. The only one I can think of from Volume I was when the null-field was generated around the Baxter building, and Vision got knocked out when he tried to pass through it. Wasn't Annihilus in the center of that? Don't think there was much action involved. The other time I can think of the Avengers in the negative zone, they fought Blastaar, didn't they? That one, I think, was around the time Stern was writing.

Title: the Mighty U.S.Avengers Writer: Steve Engleheart or Mark Gruenwald Artist: George Perez Lineup: Captain America, War Machine, Hulk, Hellcat, MoonDragon, Loki, Bastion Prime Villain: Alpha Flight (Vindicator, Wolverine, Auruora, NorthStar, Sasquatch, Snow Bird & Sersi) In an alternate reality, what-if, the Sentinal and O.N.E. rule has created a miltary state that encompases most of south America on up to the Canadian border. (S.H.I.E.L.D now operates out of Europe) Sersi, in a rivalry with MoonDragon that goes back to the split of the Eternals, Titan and Earth bound, seizes control of the Canadian government as she suspects that MoonDragon has control of the America Union. at the border, the two forces clash. BAstion Prime is in the Avengers line-up as a representitive of the O.N.E. while Loki is there to replace his dissapeared and presumed dead half-brother, Thor. or are his motives more sinister... War machine is Jim Rhodes, reflecting a more matileristic America. Tony is with Reed in some think tank that really runs America (and Moon Dragon influences them!) HA! a perfect What-if Civil War story...

Writer: Kurt Busiek OR Mark Millar Artists:George Perez Line-up: Cap, IM, Thor, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Yellowjacket, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Wonder Man, Ms Marvel Villain: Doctor Doom plus Others Make Doom a real global wide threat again, not just "that guy in Latveria." Doom targets Thor because of his power and gets more than he bargained for when the entire Avengers team is pitted against him. So Doom begins putting together his own villain organization- each of whom, of course, he has a contingency plan to destroy. Let the Avenging begin.

My team? Thor, Hawkeye, Black Panther Ms. Marvel, Vision, Moondragon, Quicksilver. Villain? Marcus Immortus. Didn't he die of rapid cellular aging in Avengers Annual 10? Yeah, but that doesn't make sense. He's in Limbo. While you can get killed in Limbo to some extent, you don't age. That whole thing doesn't make sense. And Ms Marvel Finally figures that out, and that perhaps her abduction/seduction and faked death was actually to mask his greater intent, a feint to hide his real gambit. To leave Limbo, to become the true master of time and break down the walls of time itself so he need not worry about his dying. All of that seems highly improbable...but there is one Avenger whose abilities seem to heighten the improbable and make it possible. One who acted totally out of character and nearly rent the marvel universe asunder (much like she did when under the control of another Immortus). How exactly does Wanda's abilities fit into Marcus' plans? Rife with possibilities as carol confronts the man responsible for shattering her life, Quicksilver and Vision work together to find out what happened to Wanda, Thor, Hawkeye and Moondragon who worked together in another time tossed epic this time beard another time villain. And why exactly does the Black Panther have the Scorpio Key and how is it tied to ancient Wakanda? All good questions I'd love to answer...

Writer: Joe Casey
Artist: Steve McNiven
Cast: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Vision, Yellowjacket, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Wonder Man, Hawkeye, and maybe someone new or obsecure to shake things up
Villians: Kang, Ultron, and some new or non-Avengers villains. Casey wrote a Cable story (that I'm about to read, actually) about the Avengers helping Cable out against a powerful herald of Apocalypse. Seeing the Avengers actually take on Apocalypse would be really awesome.
