That is TRUE Ua2. When the Avengers fought the human bombs way back in the 70's--when Tony, T'Challa and Don Blake were trying to save the Vision by operating on him--Tony winked at Donald Blake and said something along the lines of "If you find Thor in the same closet I found Iron Man, say hello." Donald Blake then thought to himself "So he knows after all these years."
Yes this is all off the top of my head. Apparently I am not as senile as I feared

ha ha, uh, I think... anyway, that reminds me of another high point in Avengers history: to save the Vision, the Mighty Avengers injected the Yellow Jacket into the Vision, those were the days...

My favorite part in issue 16 was when it was revealed Quicksilver had always wanted to be a circus acrobat, but his super abilities prevented it. ha ha ha! Does that strike anyone else as funny? Grouchy old Pietro wishing he could be in the circus. Stan would always find SOME way to make his heroes tragic. I want to read the What if that covers Quicksilver's circus career. ;D Bwaahaaahaaaa! Yes, that was a particularly ridiculous piece of character "development" by Stan. Also in that issue (#18), Wanda muses on her lifelong dream of being an actress. Huh?? Well, I guess she and Simon have that (show business) in common... Even more absurd is what occurs a few of issues later (#22), Wanda, Pietro and Hawkeye walk out on Cap and take jobs at a circus where they "can use their talents." Of course, this "circus" is run by the Ringmaster and boasts such acts as Cannonball, Princess Python, etc.

Hee hee! I remember those stories!
Do you realize the hidden link betwixt the Avengers and the CIRCUS? It's really eerrie--Hawkeye, the Hulk, Quicksilver and the Swordsman all worked in a circus at one time or another! What' s up with that? It's like half the 60's roster were carnie crazies!
Ua2--yeah they all worked to save the Vision's life. What the H were they thinking?

There was also a story arc in Thor in the late 60's where he lost half his power and worked as a circus strongman..of course, it was for the circus of evil...again... Maybe Stan had an unfulfilled dream of being a circus performer?

The Circus of Crime seems more a menace for DD or Spider-Man, but did manage to find their way into the books of Marvel's heavier hitters. When you think about the Circus in terms of Marvel's baddie groups, I would put money on Zodiac, the Wrecking Crew, and both the original Masters of Evil and Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to mop up the floor with the Circus of Crime!

The Circus of Crime is such a bunch of losers. Led by the guy with a hypnotizing hat. They're jsut not cut out for fighting any superhero whatsoever. But they have the worst luck, because just about every hero out there has run into them at some point in time.

I find them quite terrifying.
Just kidding.
Holy crap so even Thor was working in a circus? That is the trashiest thing I ever heard. I just can't go on...

Someone on here who is very creative should come up with a way for us to play SuperVillain Survivor or some such thing, where we have different baddies/baddie groups square off against each other to determine who is the baddest of them all. Members could vote/post their opinoins, and there would be a determined winner of each match -- it would be bracketed, so the winner would advance to face off against the next superdude. Anyone want to come up with a forumula to make this work?

I think one time they had Spider-Man beating Hulk...

But they have the worst luck, because just about every hero out there has run into them at some point in time. Don't forget that a lot of kids are terrified of clowns. In the sixties, a band of malevolent clows would probably be just about the scariest thing a kid could deal with.

Anyone want to come up with a forumula to make this work? It could be done. Are you thinking of random match ups and then polls to decide the winner ? we could have quarter finals, semifinals, final etc
