It's a spoiler so if you want to be surprised turn back now...
AVENGERS: EARTH’S MIGHTIEST HEROES II #5 & #6 (of 8) Penciled by WILLIAM ROSADO Cover by DAVE JOHNSON The Super-Adaptoid has gone underground, and Hank Pym has stared down his deepest demons. And when the mysterious Yellowjacket arrives on the scene... why do the Avengers have to act like they don’t know him? And how does his appearance lead to the most surreal super hero wedding in Marvel history? All the answers are here! 32 PGS./Rated A ...$3.99
Reading this it appears that Joe Casey is going off and taking the tack that the Avengers knew Hank was having a schizophrenic episode. I'm not one who enjoys a retcon, but if it explains things in an amazing fashion (the original story is completely ridiculous even in its 1960s context) I may let this one slide.

Interesting, because I believe the Super-Adaptoid story was around issue 48. YJ doesn't appear until 59. The battle with the Crimson Cowl (Ultron) was around 54-56 (yeah, I know I could scoot over to the cover gallery but I'm too lazy at 11 pm). So we have a "developing story" over about a year's worth of issues. I'm with you, Rex -- if it works I'm all for it. While the original story had some cool shock value a more plausible explanation won't in my opinion diminish the original.

Apparently EMH 2 will contain a new, as-of-yet untold encounter with the Super Adaptoid, judging from the synopsis for EMH 2 #4 "...Nick Fury sends them on a secret mission...the ultimate showdown between the AVengers and an uncontollable army of Super-Adaptoids!" So I don't think it's referring to the original battle that was shown back in Avengers #45 (my first issue!) Even as an 8-year old I could tell YJ was Hank Pym in #59. I remember thinking why didn't the other Avengers recognize his voice; how could Jan not know right away; or T'Challa (since he had heightened panther senses, at least he did in FF#52) ? So it'll be interesting to see how Casey handles this in EMH 2.

As you may now know, EMH II #1, which came out last week, shows the Super-Adaptoid being stolen from SHIELD. In the story, it’s clear the action occurs after the Avengers’ first encounter with the Super-’Oid.

Phantom, I think we're saying the same thing: that the Super-'Oid (love that!) battle in EMH2 is NOT the same battle as the one shown in #45 v. 1 and is, in fact, a brand new adventure. Anyway, thanks for confirming.
I haven't had the pleasure of reading EMH2 #1 yet. I usually buy my comics from Borders bookstore, but they generally don't get the books until a couple of weeks after they officially go on sale. Go figure.
