After you select, let us know which character you think is one of the best representations of your artist's work.
Neal Adams -- Vision John Buscema -- Thor

I might also reinforce (again!) that while Buscema is my main man, I didn't get enough of Neal Adams on the Avengers -- he's the one I'd like to see more of. We have a great body of work from Big John already.

Well, John Romita, and the character is obviously our Spider-Man. Buscema's Thor was wondeful too though, and I like Neal Adam's Cap.

I'd also like to see more Neal Adams on Avengers. What did he do, just a couple of issues right? Haven't seen them yet.

I selected Big John B. in part because of nostalgia: he and Palmer were the Avengers artists when I first started reading the series. Their work, along with Roger Stern’s superlative writing, connoted gravitas and class.

A short while ago I read an editorial, saying that Adams is not very good on deadlines, and very often doesn't end what he begins, which is why he doesn't do more than a few issues on a row (for example in the Kree/Skrull war).

I think in the late 60's-early 70's Neal Adams was in such high demand that he never stayed in one place very long. His biggest bodies of work seem to be Batman and Deadman. While he had some nice runs at DC, his Marvel work is so spotty -- short run on Avengers and Thor, also on Inhumans in Amazing Adventures. Nice little run on X-Men -- too bad cancellation was looming!!
That's why I'm so spoiled by Buscema. Not only is he my favorite, but you can find extended runs on multiple occasions in Avengers, FF, Conan, and Thor. Again, this checklist is a great resource!
