I'm moving this discussion from the Civil War section over to here, as I wanted to add and it seemed like it was getting off Van's original topic of the New Avengers cover.
Anyway, who are the Avengers who are immortal? Vision (in some regards -- he can't age...), Thor, Hercules (demigod??), Machine Man, Jocasta (yes, I know some of these characters are really "dead")... Any others?
I see potential for some nice stories in the future, involving obviously Kang, but Loki, Dormammu, the Grandmaster, the Sphinx, Galactus, etc. Opinions on the "old guard" having to deal with or recruit a "new guard" and face ages-old foes?

You mean immortal from aging, right ? otherwise I think they can all be killed somehow.
I think Sersi and Starfox are both nearly immortal (Sersi at least is centuries old), Wonder Man (but I'm not 100% sure about it) and possibly Firebird (according to what happens in V3). Namor seems to age at a slower rate, but not so slow as the Eternals or the Titans, so it would depend on when exactly you place your fanfic.

By all accounts Wonderman is immortal--he does not need to east or breathe either! He shows up in the year 3000 or so in the old Guardians of the Galaxy series as the hero Hollywood. Some cool stories there if you can handle the Jim Valentino Image-style art.

I think that all Eternals are considered immortal. They're not supposed to be able to die and have complete control over their atomic structures, making them almost impossible to destroy.

There is quite a bit of continuity that supports Captain America being either immortal, or very long-lived due to the SSS. Aside from being killed by a sniper, anyways.

plus rhe fact that he hasn't aged a day since the sixties. But hten again neither has anyone else.
I guess they're all immortal, until the sales start to dip.

A Marvel Handbook stated that Sersi and the other Eternals are for practical purposes immortal. They can only be killed "by a force of effect that disperses a significant portion of their molecular structure."
Gilgamesh (certainly) and Jack of Hearts (likely) - until they weren't. Ares (hey, he's an Avenger now...)
The Hulk is either immortal or very long lived, given that he one day becomes the Maestro.

That's a totally different discussion from the effects of the SSS. There have been several stories that I can think of set in alternate or future MU timelines where Cap is shown to not age due to the SSS while other heroes do. Sersi also made a comment to the effect that Cap won't age in Avengers #328 IIRC. RSC
