I thought this would be the place to ask. I'm planning an Avengers fanart project, and I don't have a clue how to dress Jan. So, if every one could please tell me their favs, and postor link to a pic of said costume, that'd be great

Here you go -- George Perez's Avengers 30th anniversary poster. Take your pick! I'm partial to the purple costume in the lower left corner -- reminds me of some of Mike Grell's 70's Legion outfits!!

I have always found the purple costume (Avengers issue# 161) to be my favorite as well!!! ;D

Old topic -- I thought the poster is worth viewing by newer members on these boards who might not have it. Mine hangs in a nice frame above the recliner in my comics room!!

Maybe it’s because it’s what she was wearing when I first started reading Avengers, but I’m quite fond of one of the black-and-yellow outfits. I described it a few months ago in the Emperor Doom thread, and I’ll repeat my description here:

I liked the series of costumes that are black with yellow in the front. The ones that aren't revealing and look more like a suit you might want to wear into a fight.
As an aside, I often hear a lot of complains about the bomber jackets in that poster. I have to say that they're positively awesome compared to Reed Richards in the FF Safari Vest. At least the bomber jackets look sort of uniformish. The vest were just something the FF took to wearing when they left Four Freedoms.
Why did everyone suddenly need to have so many pockets in the 90's?

Oh, I bet a little bare skin can be to her advantage against a lot of her opponents… Au contraire, I wonder why they didn’t need them sooner. I carry around a wallet, a checkbook, keys, a PDA, etc.…and I don’t even have energy weapons, grappling hooks, and the like.

But your light saber probably just hooks onto your belt... In regard to the Wasp and her cleavage (hmmm... aren't these words usually reserved for our Ms. Jessica Drew? , I really like the scene in Ultimates Vol. I where Jan, in an effort to distract the rampaging Hulk, just lets it all hang out! Yeah, it distracted him.

Let's not forget she was married to a guy who could increase his body size at will.... but let's not go there, shall we ?

Will that issue not seriously go down as one of the cheapest, baudiest, most tasteless scenes to occur in mainstream comics?? BRING BACK THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY!!!!

First that never should have made it to the printers. Second, Johns should have been fired. But on the topic at hand, I think a better question is: "Which is Wasp's least-worst costume." I can't say she's ever really had a uni that I thought was definitive for the character or looked very good. YMMV of course. RSC

For me her iconic look is the red/blue suit which is third up from the bottom left side.

For me, the iconic look would either be the yellow and black costume I described above or else her original red and black costume, complete with pre-Devo headgear! But as for “definitive”…well, I like the fact that she changes her look frequently. That is a defining characteristic.

I stopped buying in the middle of johns' red zone so I'm way lost on this thought. what happened in this issue (pg rated version if you please...) also just to keep on topic, I've always liked the white one leg covered, one leg bare costume. it's a little weird but very fashion-y which I see Jan as being...

Uh, let's just say it involves Hank, Jan, a bed, no clothes, Hank YJ-sized and "using his powers" right before he emerges from between Jan's legs. Sorry, had to go "R" because that's what it was. Had I bought that when I was 8 I would have been scarred for life...

Cold shower?
Yeah, just really no place in a mainstream, over-the-counter comic. I want that kind of stuff, I'll pick up Chaykin's Black Kiss. Which I wouldn't...

And so a thread devoted to Wasp's best costumes has stalled on a scene in which she wasn't wearing one.
I just want her antennae to grow back. Not like when Harras and Pym turned her into a bug monster right before Onslaught -- that was dumb -- but just a couple of cool beady antenna sticking out of her fore head. As much as she changes her costume -- why not show off her antennae more often?
A person on another forum one time said that Byrne addressed her antennae by saying that she could choose to protrude them out or not. She had them in the early early issues, but not for a long time.

In the 30th anniversary picture -- who are the 4 Iron Men? I figure Jim Rhodes as War Machine, Rhodes as Iron Man, Stark as Iron Man, and then there's 1 more. Who is that? It doesn't have all of his armor styles, just 4. Anybody know?

I assumed Perez just picked four of the more common IM suits and pictured them. Of course, around that time they were getting into The Crossing and other such stupid stories, so who knows?

My favourite is the red and black suit with white on the limbs. Circa the Yesterday Quest (#185 - 187, Vol. 1)

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I actually like the current costume. If they'd just do something about her hair... It looks like someone put a bowl on her head to cut it and then plastered it down with Dippity Do.

Looked like cheesy Japanese sci-fi. The outfit she wears in Ultimate Avengers, GOOD GAWD- i wouldn't be able to concentrate on scientific experiments if I were Hank Pym.

My favorite Wasp costume is the one she had when I first started reading, the Yellow and Black that she used pretty frequently in the mid 80's, it seems!
