Hmmm, things have been too quite here in the last few days, so I ask: Is there a character who has never been an avenger but you would love to see as member of the group ?

You are right -- I've noticed it been kind of dead around here!!
Before I announce my candidate, let me first say that I haven't followed the X-Men closely at all since about 5 issues into the Jim Lee run in the early 90's. When the character explosion happened, and you couldn't tell who was who even with a scorecard, I dropped out.
That being said, and forgive me if the character is "dead", I think Havok (and Polaris, too) could find homes with Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Alex Summers is a character I remember as one of the mutants who had a particulary hard time dealing with his powers, and also with living in the shadow of his big brother Scott. He possesses some leadership qualities along with a bit of an edge, and in my opinion, you can't beat the Neal Adams costume that he is most known for, with the jet black body suit and the concentric circles on his chest. He's been a team-guy off and on, so it wouldn't be like you'd have to shoe-horn him in to make a fit.

Truly I can't think of any characters that need to be Avengers- Dream Avengers or otherwise- at least Marvel characters...
Hawkman sure...
Green lantern- a shoe in...
But Marvel?
Maybe some reformed villains- Songbird finally. Maybe Nomad...
Oh wait. He's dead...
Where are all the good characters gone?

I hadn't thought about Havoc, but you are right, he would be an interesting Avengers. As for me, I'd like to see Angel, Songbird or Mach-3, even though none of them is really a dream character. Maybe some DC hero on provisional membership would be interesting

Personally I've always wanted to see Sunfire join the team, to give it a more international flair (isn't Mantis the only other Asian?), and also he gives Quicksilver a run for his money in the arrogance department. I'd love to see a team with Moondragon, Quicksilver, Namor, Hercules and Sunfire and Cap trying to rein them in...

Nova. It's time for this guy to ditch the new warriors and join the big league.

I'd kinda like to see Haywire, Storm or maybe even a resurrected Yellowjacket II join the team (since, as I understand it, Iron Man killed her, it'd make a juicy little subplot )

my dream character joining the team is on the current team...spider-man. waited a loooong time for the big league hero to actually get treated like he's big league...
Other than him, I think Iceman would work well in the Avengers, just like Beast did. Also I'd enjoy Songbird there, as well as Mach-4

also..regarding Havoc....I'm not too big on this character, but I think Avengers membership would help him a lot. Right now he's in the mutant crowd, so he's in the shadow of his brother. The only way for him to get out of that shadow is to move him away from any x-title and keep him away for awhile....and with a long tenure with the Avengers, I think this could happen. I'd say, have it be a team without Cap so Alex could lead....but maybe that wouldn't work well, cause that might give the avengers too much of a mutant focus if havok leads right away.......

The Avengers have always had marvel icons in their roster as some point or another...that's what makes them THE TEAM to be a part of. With that said, I think the one major icon not yet an Avenger would have to be Daredevil, Even if his tenure were brief (which if it does happen I believe it will be), I can live with that.

Who is the best Avenger who came in after a somewhat notable solo career (not like Gilgamesh or Dr. Druid (ugh!), who were very underexposed)? Of course I'm speaking of the period after Vol. 1 issue 16 when the founder's and "Cap's Kooky Quartet" were established.
Black Widow? Namor? Hercules?

I'd say Namor, because he didn't really stay long. Whoever came after Stern (was it Simonson ?) clearly didn't want him around, and he left shortly after he first joined.

Now that he is back from the dead I'd like to see Baron Zemo as an Avenger. He'd fit right in with The MA squad and I think his character is very interesting with his new morality conflicting with his continuing feelings of superiority.
I think it would be an interesting fit.

I agree with Shiryu, Namor needs an extended Avengers run. I'd like to see him actually as a member of the team as opposed to a loose cannon who constantly rushes back to Atlantis on a moments notice.
Maybe during one of the times that Namor is in exile instead of when he's actively trying to run a country.

That's not a terrible idea. They could even try him out in a leadership role. That'd be interesting to see.
