I like the Young Avengers. But the whole codename situation sucks. Let’s do some analysis:
Iron Lad. Actually, I did like this one. The word “lad” is woefully underused these days. But since the character has effectively ceased to exist, it’s a moot point.
Asgardian/Wiccan. When I first saw the “Asgardian” name, I found it sadly underdescriptive, considering how many Asgardians have actually been running around the Marvel Universe. It would be like calling oneself “Mutant”. Also, as it became clear that Asgardian really had little to do with Asgard, a change of name became all the more desirable. (A homophobic pun was cited as a reason for changing the name, but I personally find that silly.) But I don’t care for the replacement. “Wiccan” means a practitioner of the religion Wicca. So far as I know, Billy isn’t, but even if he is, it’s a silly name, as would be “Jew”, “Christian”, “Roman Catholic”, “Shiite”, “Zen Buddhist”, “Secular Humanist”, etc.
Patriot. I think it’s OK. Not as flashy as “Lieutenant America” (suggested in #1 when the kids’ codenames weren’t yet known to the public), but OK.
Hulkling. A bit silly, but fun. Still, with the recent revelations as to his powers and origins, it’s seeming less and less appropriate. It’s been suggested that Hulkling will become the new Captain Marvel. But I’d prefer Teddy use a name that’s more his own.
Stature. Unlike some other suggested codenames (“Ant-Girl”, “Giant-Girl”...), “Stature” does neutrally connote that Cassie can change her size to both super- and subnormal. But...I think it’s very uninspiring.
Kate Bishop. “Hawkingbird” is silly, but she really ought to come up with something. She’s defying the genre! There were a couple of nice exchanges on this topic in #10:
Tommy Shepherd. If he’s going to join the team, he should get a codename too.
The Vision. A time-tested classic. Well, if he’s got the old Vizh’s memories, I suppose he can wear the name too. “Vision, Jr.” would be unforunate.
Your thoughts?

Patriot: And what are we supposed to do?
Wiccan: Wait here.
Kate: And do what?
Wiccan: It wouldn’t kill you to come up with a codename.

Tommy: Who are you?
Kate: I-- I’m--
Someone off panel (perhaps Wiccan again): See, this is when having a codename would come in handy.
