I mentioned it in a post on the New Avengers thread, but if anyone else wants to see it-- I was asked by the good folks at RevolutionSF.com to write an article reviewing NEW AVENGERS for them. You can read it here: www.revolutionsf.com/article.html?id=2840If you'd care to, give them some feedback on it, so they'll know somebody out there's reading my article! Ha. --Van

Hey, I'm new here and wanna comment. First off, gotta say good article, very well written and thought provoking, and I do agree with a lot of what you say (For the most part, this team isn't really the Avengers). Wolverine is not an Avenger, especially in a team with Luke Cage and Sentry and Spider-Woman and a completely new character (who may or may not be Daredevil), but i do disagree with something. From my SN you can probably guess why. Spider-Man. I think that its long past due for Spidey to be an Avenger. I've heard most of the arguements about it. The main one is....he's a loner, but that's not a real reason, because you honestly gotta look at the WHYs of him being a loner. As Peter Parker, he was this nerd in high school, so he kept to himself...but did he want that? Of course not, he wanted to have friends, go to parties...all that. As Peter he was FORCED into being a loner. And you can say the same about his alter ego. From the beginning Spider-Man has been dubbed a menace....chased by cops....having bounties be constantly put on his head, so as Spidey he felt he had to work alone, because he felt no one would trust Spider-Man, but other heroes know how he trully is, like Cap and Iron Man. They know how much of a hero he is. While he's been dubbed a loner character, like you say in the article he also had Marvel Team-Up as one of his titles so he knows how to work with others well..he just might not feel accepted.
Oh, and about New Avengers, I buy it, yes, but I probably wouldn't buy it if Spidey was not a member....well, unless it was called something else besides Avengers. I understand how this book really isn't the Avengers, I just believe that Spider-Man does have a place in the ranks of CLASSIC Avengers...
