Now, I may well totally miss the purpose to the Avengers (especially since, at least in my mind, the Avengers have very rarely actually avenged anything), but shouldn't Decimation be something that they - and the FF, to an extent - get seriously involved in?
Let's look at a few specific titles and why the Avengers should see them cancelled:
Sentinel Squad O*N*E
The new US O.N.E. puts Sentinels all around the Westchester Academy. To kill dangerous mutants. AND THE AVENGERS DO NOTHING? So what, they're only there to protect the non-mutant majority?
NEW EXCALIBUR and X-FACTOR
In a world that fears and hates mutants more than ever, a team of mutants goes out to a) investigate the cause of why humans fear and hate mutants more than ever and b) clean up the mess created by the cause of why humans fear and hate mutants more than ever. It's kinda like asking Usama bin Laden to down himself and all the other members of al-Qa'ida, isn't it? Wouldn't the Avengers or FF be much better suited to the task?
(BTW, I didn't spell those wrong, you did.)
I mean... really. Now, I'm the first to admit that if I lived in the Marvel Universe and didn't have super powers I'd be a regional leader of the Friends of Humanity or some such group (read my postscript to find out what I'd do if I had powers), so perhaps I'm a little biased, but MUTANTS ARE FREAKS WHO HAVE BROUGHT ON MORE HORRIFIC EVENTS THAN ANY HUMAN EVER. Onslaught. House of M. Geez.
They should NOT be a self-regulating subspecies. It seems so odd that when Latveria does something bad, the Avengers go in guns blazing, but when the mutants do something 1000x worse, the Avengers do nothing (unless it involves the Scarlet Witch, then they swear a lot and decide to kill her).
Stupidness and stupidness.

P.S. - I'm sure some of you are wondering what I'd do if I had powers. Well... I'd get those d**n evil adult mutants that cause a fuss (Xavier, Magneto, Sabretooth, Wolverine, and the like) and deal with them, but I would PROTECT THE CHILDREN. I'd let the d**n Sentinels go after the X-Men as much as they want, as the X-Men are a danger to society no matter how you look at it, but the moment Sentinels or anyone else threatened a mutant kid, no matter how dangerous, I'd be all over them.
That would be my mission. Cap's is to be holier-than-thou, Iron Man's is undefined, mine is to protect mutant children and put mutant adults, who should know better, where they belong.
I have a lot to say about mutants and why they are bad. I also have a lot to say - in a very Superman-in-Avengers/JLA-way - about why the Avengers et. al. (aka. the non-mutant heroes) don't do anywhere near enough to protect humanity in general, let along from the X-Men/Weapon X/etc. But that is for another day and another board.
