I realize nobody cares, but is anyone reading Captain America Reborn and the Black Panther? Both of these books are BLOWING ME AWAY. Both actually have exciting, action-packed stories that are coherent and fascinating. The art in both is fantastic too. Please guys--give these books a chance. They are Marvel at its BEST!!!
The new writer on BP actually has Dr Doom using mechanized insects as weapons--something I put in my graphic novel in 2003.
PS I am not saying any of this because the Panther is my favorite Avenger--I've hated most of his solo stuff. This book is about the best thing Marvel is putting out now IMO.

CAPTAIN AMERICA REBORN SPOILER BELOW: I haven't read the new Black Panther but since he's one of favorites in the Marvel U I'll have to check it out. Captain America Reborn is still keeping me excited. What is the Red Skull up to?? The reasoning behind the rebirth project was eluding me but now I'm wondering if his plan is to literally become Steve Rogers himself so as to ruin his image... a conquest even greater than killing him (similar to "Kraven's Last Hunt"). The Red Skull should've been included in all of this "Dark Reign"/Cabal business...

Are you daring to suggest the Red Skull would have worked better than Osbourne? That is just crazy talk.
Glad somebody here is open to new books!

Cap:Reborn is definitely one of the more interesting NEW book i'm currently reading. I hope it doesn't get too delayed, as seems to happen to most comics as soon as I become intrigued.......
As far as new comics that I'm enjoying, Guardians of the Galaxy is still the best book out now... Avengers:Initiative has been very good. ....and both of these books are semi-enmeshed with the current "mega-events" (which I have sworn off since being burned by Secret Invasion), but are excellent stand-alone series despite the "mega-event" banners...
and I'm sticking with Mighty Avengers, which is getting better and better...
I'm thinking of picking up Incredible Hercules once the main-story of "Assault of Olympus" starts, but I'm skeptical.....
and I enjoyed the Hulk with the Defenders arc, the Punisher vs. Scourge's victims arc, "Old Man Logan", but I'm not interested in these books' new arcs.
Oh, and the occassional Thunderbolts issue-- oh and I might pick up JLA again.
Sadly, I picked up the first couple issues of Ultimates3. It just ruined the Ultimate Universe for me.....and after hearing what a cluster**ck Ultimatum was, I'm glad I dropped it. I picked up Ultimate Avengers#1, but I just can't get back into it......
But, it's pretty depressing when there are hundreds of titles every month, and I can only bring myself to buy four or five a month, and the occassional marvel Handbook.
.....I might give Black Panther a shot, though, on your recommendation. I miss "Marvel at its best" as you described these books. For me, the best right now is Guardians.

Star--I have the same problem when I go to the comic store--can't even bring myself to buy more than 2 or three comics, if that.
The last four or five issues of the Black Panther have been so good I am actually excited to see the next issue, which is something I haven't experienced in a while. Even if you aren't a big Panther fan, the book is worth it for the guest stars alone (Sub-Mariner and Dr Doom, for instance). Another great thing about BP is the fact that it isn't mired at all with all the garbage that's going on in the rest of the Marvel Cluster F. It is very much it's own book so you don't need to read five hundred other comics to know what's going on.
Hope you like it, my friend.
