...Appears to be Marvel's 2008 mega-event written almost certainly by Brian Michael Bendis, with everyone's favourite green-skinned folk! Improtant tidbits revealed include: -Thor will be a big part. (Shockingly, since Bendis doesn't seem a big fan) -Tony Stark is not a Skrull. Implied before, now confirmed. -The Real Elektra will be seen in Secret Invasion. That's basically it but still... BIga Newsa! Let the complaining, whining, screaming and occasional discussion begin!

Unfortuantly yes, it is the same artist that is currently doing NA.

Bendis = Obvious but Good. Yu= OH DEAR GOD NO!
The ONLY bright side of that is that it means he's off NA after this arc.

Can't agree with you on Bendis, in my opinion his last big story House of M could have been four issues shorter, and still told the story just as well. On Yu we totally agree, my god what do people see in his art.

Let the record show... I feel BENDIS! isn't fit to write fortune cookies let alone major arcs in ANYTHING. I fear we'll have another useless and pointless event on our hands and I fear what he will do to Thor. That being said... Gah! Yu?!

Naa, I probably would have let the guy write it. His plot after all. Yu on the other hand, I would have relegated to Incredible Hulk, and then spent BILLIONS if necessary, bankrupting Marvel itself,to get George PĂ©rez to draw it.

The only logical conclusion I can draw is that people like his Art.
But who are these people, and where do they come from?
I mean on this board that members have various opinions of whats good and bad, the only constant seems to be nobody likes this guys art.

His work on "Wolverine" during the 90's was really good. He's done some other stuff - and I remember hating him "X-Men." However, I liked him on "Superman: Birthright." He's touch and go, I guess.

Do you think there will ever come a time again where we get back to some simpler story lines for a while?

Do you think there will ever come a time again where we get back to some simpler story lines for a while? Fantastic Four? Spider-Man: Brand New Day? Thor? Iron Man (To some extent)? The Order? I'd name you some from the Distinguished Competition but there are literally none springing to mind that aren't in some manner tied with Final Crisis.

Since the Skrulls have shape changing powers, I guess this will be another heroes fight each event, huh.

Unless Bendis mishandles the Skrulls, they'll trick people into fighting each other right and left. And they'll murder people in their civilian identities (which they can easily get by impersonating a SHIELD officer and copying Tony's database). Of course, since it's Bendis, and it's not the sort of story he writes well, we can be reasonably sure he'll bungle it.

A brief blurb at Marvel's site notes that Avengers: Illuminati #5 marks the first time since the WWH that the Illuminati have got together and says that not all of them are who they appear to be. It also states this issue leads into the big 2008 event.
