How do you rate the Falcon as an avenger on a scale from 1 to 8 points? How well does he work for you within the dynamics of the group? How much do you like/dislike him as a character?

I voted a 2, just because of the character's duration, as well as his relationship and loyalty to Captain America.
I still resent the reason Gyrich put him on the team in the first place, although that was symbolic of the time and a topical plot vehicle.
But, power-wise he just doesn't really add anything. Even given his close relationship to Cap it never seemed to fit when Sam was on the team.
In fact, I can't even really name a good Falcon-moment within the pages of The Avengers.

I don't like him much even as Cap's partner, let alone as Avenger. 1 for me, there are plenty more powerful and useful flying guys, and even his new powers aren't too useful in a fight against a supervillain.

I've always liked the Falcon. Maybe it was because the first Captain America comic I recall reading featured the Falcon trying to capture Spider-Man. Maybe it was the crazy looking orange and green costume he was sporting at the time (complete with a big honkin' necklace and bird pendant). Whatever the reason, I've always liked the character. But even I would have to admit his run as an Avenger hasn't been in the least memorable - with the exception of the reason for his joining in the first place (if for nothing else than Hawkeye's reaction!). I do think he played a strong role as one of Cap's 'Secret Avengers' during the Civil War. But all in all, I'd have to rate him a three.

A 2. IMO he was not much of an Avenger. I think he works better with just Cap, or on his own.

I really like the character, but I only gave him a 3. First, he himself admitted, when he was inducted, that he works better alone or with just Cap. No argument here. Also, his powers don't really add much to this team, IMO. More of a street level guy. I do also love his reaction to being the token black Avenger, saying "yessuh" to Gyrich.

I gave him a 2. He didn't bother me as an Avenger--and the reason he was chosen at the time was kinda interesting, but he seemed to be better working with Captain America.
