Mine ended when Iron Man ONCE AGAIN became the traitor, the harbinger of dark tidings to his fellow Avengers... But I feel for Cap, as well... I concurr that his death was totally anticlimatic, petty... Consider my hand raised...

A question to answer the question.
If it should what would you replace it with? I notice that several posters aren't satisfied with the abilities of the current writers. So would these people have the skills to come up with something new and interesting? Or would it just wind up being a re-hash of old ideas?
Being an old timer I stick with 'better the devil you know'
I would be more in favor of a clean-up series tho'. Where they would do some major bit and many old-hat and overused characters are,.. um,.. removed,.. from the picture. Maybe even a few major characters.

A question to answer the question. If it should what would you replace it with? The Malibu Universe!(OK, not really. But I do miss Prime—before Giffen took over.)

Should it end? NEVER. I would rather see the heroes age a little bit, maybe pass on their legacies to new heroes. A Universe that evolves and doesn't have to re-invent current characters to tell a story. "That Stark JR is pretty good, but not half the man his father was" kind of thing.
CW bothers me because it deals with heroes who have a history of doing the right thing. I wouldn't mind so much if say there was a second generation, with more of a tendency to cross the line, creating the controversy that the old timers get caught up in.
Marvel can do whatever it wants with their trademarked characters. They can never take away the fond memories of coming home with a stack of comics and running up to my room and spending the rest of the day lost in the Marvel Universe.

We keep seeing these characters from the future, who remember the heroes as teachers or legends, but none of the current heroes evolve. Thank you uber

Uhm, I don't think I would really want the main characters to evolve in that sense. For example I enjoy Batman Beyond, but I would never want that to be the one and only Batman, because for me the real Bat-Man is Bruce Wayne. I'm happy with what if or books set in the future like Spider-Girl, but wouldn't want it with the main one.

I'd like to see this to, actually. A next generation, evolution of characters kind of approach. ~W~
