And let us know approximatelywhat time period you are referring to.
The maximum number of comics I ever bought was probably around 21-25 a month, and I'd say that was in the early 1990's.

I used to buy most of the Marvels every month and a good handful of DCs. It was in about 1990 or 1991. That's when I bought the most. I was up to about 6 issues a month from about the time Avengers disassembled through about New Avengers 12. After I cancelled New Avengers, I just decided to cancel everything.

The most new comics I regularly bought in a month and when that was...hmmm...good question. That would have to be the late 80s. At the time, I was buying: Cap -- The heart of the Gruenwald era The Avengers -- With the exception of Under Siege, this wasn't one of the better eras overall Avengers Spotlight -- Very hit-or-miss. Probably bought out of completist tendencies. Excalibur -- Probably as much for the art as anything I also sporadically bought other books like West Coast Avengers, Iron Man (circa Armor Wars) the New Mutants, as well as whatever comic I found guest-starring Captain America. I think my best guess would be around 5 books a month at peak, give or take. And really for a lot of it I just bought Cap, the Avengers, and Cap guest shots. Even then I bought a lot more back issues than I did new stuff.

I have come back to collecting with a vengance since i started up again about 2 years ago. Now it's mostly DC with a healthy dose of Marvel and a smattering of indies. I have a subscription(pull list) at my local shop and I think I am over the 50 a month mark. I get 25% off my books which is cool but I do have to start to scale back a bit soon.
