The word is that if you are planning on reading both Civil War #2 and its tie-in Thunderbolts #103 (both slated for this week), you should read CW first, lest its ending be “spoiled” by the ’Bolts story. From Rich Johnston’s Lying in the Gutters (vol. 2, #56, June 12): You have been forewarned.

When is CW 2 coming out anyway ? it should be almost there now, shouldn't it ? In the US, new comics usually début in your friendly neighborhood comics shop on Wednesdays, and this week is no exception—and it’s still Tuesday. So, both CW #2 and Thunderbolts #103 should be reaching us tomorrow. On reflection, maybe my initial post of this thread was unnecessary. After all, when you have an “event” crossover like this, with a limited series chronicling the principal story and spilling into various tie-ins, usually the logical chronological approach to tie-ins that come out the same week as the principal series is to read the principal series’ issue first. Still, the spoilerage was trumpeted so resoundingly that I felt compelled to post. I guess megacrossovers have a way of sapping one’s willpower and critical thinking!

From Newsarama: I’m quoting from Newsarama’s main page, which does not reveal what the ending is. (It does give a teasing piece of the illustration in question.) If you want the scoop, read Newsarama’s article, or read the Post—or read Civil War #2 first, as I plan to do.

Now that I’ve read Civil War #2, I’m disappointed by the hoopla—the ending in question had already been telegraphed by an earlier CW tie-in. In any case, New Thunderbolts was better.

I heard the same thing in my local shop as I was buying them today. I have read Civil War #2. I thought it was really good. It looks like some interesting things will be developing for the Young Avengers.
