From today's www.superherotimes.com -- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has confirmed that he will portray the conflicted DC character, Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam! film. The Rock took the roll based on feedback from fans, who said he would be better suited to the darker character than Captain Marvel. The film is set to begin shooting before the end of the year and, at present, has not been affected by the current strike in Hollywood.

Screen writers guild -- they've been on strike for a couple of days. It has immediately affected what we call "late night" programming -- mainly talk shows where the host does a comedy monologue at the beginning of the show.

Why would the Rock want to play Black Adam anyway.

I didn't know anything about this After reading your post did a bit of research and found the reasons behind the strike and the effects it's having. Hopefully it won't last too long. As for the movie, I know so little about Shazam that will probably give it a miss.
