From Superherotimes.com today:
...the film will be a period piece following Erik Lehnsherr on a global hunt for vengeance against Nazi's who experimented on him after he destroyed the iron gates at a Auschwitz (as seen in the first film). Fans can expect to see the famed Marvel villain's normal life (with a very fitting dayjob), abuse at the hands of men, and events leading to his decision to eliminate the human race. The story apparently spans three continents over several years and will feature cameo's from the Marvel universe, including some characters involved with Lehnsherr during his later years as the Mast of Magnetism, Magneto.

Oh yes, this has been in the pipeline for a year or so. David Goyer directing.
Much of it is still unclear, but recent interviews have said parts of it HEAVILY hinge upon his friendship with Xavier and the formation of the X-Men. If done right, it should be a masterpiece of character development and show a very atypical super hero movie.
It probably won't be...
...but I can dream...

Fingers crossed that this is good. I like that we'll be seeing Ian McKellen as Magneto and Patrick Stewart as Professor X again, even if it is to just frame the flashback portions.

Interesting idea. It has a lot of potential for good or for bad. I'm glad they will be using the same actors (is it confirmed?), but I wonder what the plot will revolve around. Just looking for young mutants around the world sounds a bit boring on the long run.

It's confirmed that Stewart will appear in a small supporting role, probably for a framing sequence.

Let's just hope that the Magneto doesn't suck.
