I don't think this comes out until mid-September. Has something changed?

I saw it at Comic Con. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but I will say that there's not a lot of the original story in there other than Superman fighting Doomsday and then (apparently) dying. There are no other heroes in the movie. Doomsday is pretty much gone by 20-25 minutes into the movie. The rest features Luthor and another antagonist.
After watching years of the DCU animated (Superman, Batman, Justice League) I have to say this wasn't as good as I'd hoped for. I think we have seen better knockdown, dragout fights in JL (the Doomsday fight in JL was actually better than this one IMO). There were also some idiosyncracies with the art that bothered me, like strange craggy lines on Superman's face. The story felt weak and somewhat cliched.
The voice acting wasn't too bad. They have a very different take on Luthor - much more icy - and that was a bit interesting. This is also a much more PG version, as we see Supes and Lois cuddling in bathrobes, and it's clear the two have had sex. Also some mild profanity a couple of times.
All in all, it was about a B-/C+ in my book. I really hope the dvds to follow are closer to the original stories, but if they insist on 70 minute running times, it may be difficult.

Definitely sounds like DC is taking their brand of animation and pushing it into the areas that Marvel has gone into with the direct-to-video market.
Competition on an even level (or with an even type of product I guess I should say) isn't always a good thing. DC didn't have a bad thing going.
Saying that, though, I will say back in the heyday of the Batman: The Animated Series program and comic books, I did really like the Mad Love graphic novel. Kept the same style, but they did amp up the story a bit.

So then it certainly wouldn't be better than the Captain Marvel - Superman fight in JLU, my personal fav of DCAU battles when it comes to epic knockdown drag-outs Also, was it an all new voice cast? I liked the Superman animated/JL voice casting

I don't think this comes out until mid-September. Has something changed? I thought it was coming out now, since it was showed at ComiCon, but I may be wrong... From Tana's review it doesn't sound as good as I was hoping, which is a pity. Does it refer to the JLU fight, or is it different continuities ?

The voice cast is completely new. They do a decent job, although for me, no one tops Clancy Brown as Luthor!
There are no other superheroes in the film, nor are any referenced. I really think this was a mistake, as seeing the other heroes get trashed trying to take Doomsday down would have made Superman's struggle more impressive.
