So, how many people on the board have seen the new Transformers movie?
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, although it really needed less humans and way more Starscream. I'm really hoping that I can find the new TV series in Canada now that it isn't an import from Japan and therefore has a chance of making sense.

It wasn't so bad if you went in with an open mind and didn't care what they did with transformers.
I did care, so despite it being a decent film, I still absolutely hate it on principle.
1) Why was the d**n movie all done in Michael Bay's personal font? I just love how he stamped this movie with his personal seal, now every time it starts I'll wonder for a few seconds if I'm watching Transfomers or The Island.
2)The Cars were all changed, and not for the sake of updating things, but for the sake of making sure they were all GM brand.
3)The Cube? WTF?
4)Too many humans. WAY TOO MANY, I mean Anthony Anderson's character was almost completely shoehorned into that movie, that analysis chick could have done his part and hers, or he could have done her part instead of her.
5)Megatron was a plane? There must have been 10 better choices for what he could transform into.
6) What ever happened to Barricade, Starscream and Scorpinok at the end, Barricade got cut off on the freeway and decided not to go to the final battle, Scorpinok Crawled into the sand to die and never be seen again, at least Starscream just peaces out after the credits.
7)Soundwave? Was that the cd player guy or what? Didn't have soundwave's voice, WHICH IT SHOULD HAVE
8) Why the hell did they all jump around like they were in the matrix every five minutes?
9)Other than Blackout and Megatron the Decepticons weapons left a little to be desired
10)All the autobots weapons and most of their transfomred forms in general left much to be desired. The exception being Bumblebee and Optimus
11) Did the autobots even do anything? It looked to me like the only ones who were killing decepticons were the US military and a highschool kid.
12) I really hate Bernie Mac, why did he have to be in this movie even for a few seconds.
13) That scene where where they were searching for the glasses lasted like WAAAAYYYY too long.
14) There were too many simultaneous plot lines making the story jump around a lot and the movie move too slow.

And all the stupid political statements that were extraneous to the real plot anyway didn't do anything but waste time.
And the mexican bashing really just came of as racist.

I haven't seen it yet, but everyone I know who has seen it was very positively impressed...

I liked it too.
I watched it a second time after the initial magic had worn off, and the couple nods here and there to the original concepts just stated to not do it for me. I've seen the 80s Transformers movie several dozen times in it's entirety, I doubt I'll watch the new one more than a third time (When it comes out with the extneded dvd cut most likely)
Its not that it wasn't good for what it was, but I've never taken any comic translation movies as good for what they were, I want the best because if you've been choosen for a movie, it should be kept true to the source material because that material is the very reason something became popular enough to warrant a movie in the first place.

Over the years Megatron has to deal with not turning into a walte r P-38 gun because of parents who get pissed.
Micheal Bay won't do the next movie because he and paramount aren't talking since paramount is not going to put the transformer s movie on blue-ray dvd.
Not every fan was happy with what he did with Transformers he even got death threats from fans who were pissed at him.

I've never been a fan of the Transformer. So, this was the first time I heard most of their names, except for about 3 of the main characters from the cartoon. I loved the movie. And bumblebee was much cooler as that car (thought it was a Mustang, but is apparently some GM car), than a dopey VW. This is a great movie.

Micheal Bay won't be doing the next movie cause and Paramount had a falling out on not supporting Blu-Ray DVD.
Check out this link to watch the intro of Transformers Headmaster s from japan.
