Hey all! Just Doom here. Anyway, I wrote this a while back and I was looking to share it with you all. I thought out what I think we all think of sometimes; the PERFECT Avengers movie. If I was writing, if I made it, what would it be? Well, in my personal opinion, movies should always be adapted from classic storylines and the three essentials for that are "Avengers Under Siege", "Ultron Unlimited" and "The Kang War". Two of them are the best stories of their representive major villain IMO, and the third is just awesome and perfect for Hollywood anyway.
However I felt none of these were good for an OPENING film and so I thought it should be based off another classic. What Avengers would be there? Who wouldn't? How would they assemble? Who would they fight? Well, I thought- surely by this stage there would already have been Cap, Iron Man and Thor movies? And tha planned Ant-Man with Hank Pym? Hmm... intriguing.
So it was born; my OWN Avengers movie idea. It's long and probably tedious, and it;'s not a script or anything but I'd be VERY interested in any feedback you might have! I think you'll recognize the source material, and please forgive the deviations I made to "hollywoodise" it a bit, especially concerning Nefaria and Wonder Man!
So, presenting... my OWN dream Avengers intro flick...
Name: "Avengers Assemble!"
Very In-Depth Synopsis: Begin by introducing the heroes. Captain America foils a terrorist heist. The Mighty Thor halts a bank robbery by the Absorbing Man! Iron Man easily apprehends a heavily armed criminal who has broken open an armoured car. Ant-Man and his wife, the Wasp, use their powers to thwart a robbery by a second criminal. Elsewhere Clint Barton makes his debut stopping an attempted murderer. After this has happened, we cut to an expensive lab facility. A well dressed, caped Italian man examines it. Some goons are with him, along with a scientist, an uncomfortable looking goon figure with red sunglasses and a weasely man. The italian man pronounces that the location is perfect- there's just one little catch. The weaselly man may have found them the lab but he's seen too much. The Italian Man orders the red-sunglasses man, "Mister Williams" to kill him. Williams hesitantly refuses. The Italian curtly reminds him that Williams has no say in the matter; does he really want the truth of his embezzling from his former company to come out in the open? Williams is shaky, but sticks to his line. The weasselly man tries to run but the sighing Italian simply orders the other goons to gun him down and declares that they msut bring the Maggia's scientists there immediately.
We then see the heroes again, at their own lives, establishing the characters of Wasp and Hawkeye more firmly as they are new.
This should be lengthy enough. We then cut to jail, where the Italian strides in and pays rather substantial fees in order to break the three criminals out "provided they do exactly what he says." They are cautious of course and he tells them that he is offering the chance of a lifetime- plus not going back to prison. As they leave reluctantly with him, one of the scientists who accompanies him hisses that the transfer may not work. The Italian replies that that is why he has a lab rat.
We cut to a few days later. There is a big crime- the city bank has been robbed by three criminals with super powers who have easily crushed the policemen sent to oppose them- one can fire energy blasts from his arms like cannons, one can spin like a tornado and one has amazing strength and durability. The criminals- for it is of course the three from earlier- the Lethal Legion though they'd never be so called onscreen- gloat about how easy the field test is going. The police broadcast an open frequency, hoping it will reach the Fantastic Four. As all this happens, the Italian man watches from his HQ. He then calmly instructs his goons to grab Williams. The shocked Williams is grabbed and forced into the central machine in the lab. The Italian explains that there are no room for doubters in the Maggia- but don't worry, this means his debt will be paid!
Iron Man arrives on the scene, having picked up the frequency. Thinking it's regular criminals, he attacks but Living Laser blasts him out of the sky. Power Man then beats the surprised Shellhead up, throwing him aside like a broken toy. The villains don't even get to move on however when they are under fire from Hawkeye, who is also got unprepared and felled by Living Laser. The criminals smash their way down the street, and use some tech to get onto the top of a pretty tall building so they can succesfully port out Half-way up, they are attacked by Ant-Man and Wasp, but Power Man swats down the two with relative ease. Before they can port away though, a shield slams Whirlwind to the ground- Captain America leads before them, declaring "End of the line," (A SHIELD flying car behind him if you want to get technical)
Back at the bank, Iron Man groggily recovers and tries to pursue, when he is nearly shot down by an arrow. Hawkeye discovers who it is and they hastily agree to work together to take down the Lethal Legion. Ant-Man and Wasp are up and abou,t though painful- they can't let the criminals get away! Cap is fighting on, but his foes' powers increase every few minutes, and they are on the verge of defeating him wheeeen... the other heroes arrive! (Iron Man flying, Ant-Man and Wasp flying, Hawkeye using a grappling hook arrow) Commence battle royale, and it's reasonably closely matched. The Lethal Legion get the upper hand towards the end, more and more... when lightning shatters the sky and Thor descends to stop these guys who have wrought havoc. The Legion are crushed by the combined power of these heroes, but they manage at the last to teleport away.
The heroes all discover that each of them had their asses handed to them by the group. They make their introductions wearily. With the villains still on the loose, people aren't safe. Together, the villains proved more than a match for the heroes working alone. Unless, it is suggested, they work together? They were winning at the end there, right? Reluctantly, each member agrees that they may need to join forces for this, just on a temporary basis. Except Thor. Thor speaks to the others but then apologizes- he has other duties. He cannot be a part of an Earth group such as this. He leaves regretfully. Iron Man suggests that they use an old mansion of his on the city outskirts to regroup and make some plans? It is decided. Meanwhile, Italians man congratulates the Legion on their success- even if they did lose at the end. He then dismisses them and contacts his scientists. How did the Williams experiment go? The result is shown; the restraints on the machine he was strapped in are broken, the lab is ruined and there's a hole in the wall. Excellent, he declares- the machine works! Now nothing can stop him!
Lots of character building for the Avengers as a team- there is of course disagreement and dispute in some cases. What the Hell do they do now? Introduce Jarvis in this segment among other things. Tony asks Cap why he describes himself as a Masked Avenger- wouldn't defender or champion be more appropriate? He explains that he does not strike the first blow- it is not a hero's way. He does not attack without provocation. But when his opponent does attack…. Captain America will be there to avenge it. Stark is contacted with shocking news- there's a Simon Williams to see him? He's confused- Williams was an old business competitor of his and they were arch rivals, but Williams Enterprises closed unexpecteddly not all that long ago. Williams staggers in and explains that it's not a first choice- Simon has no-one else he knows in the city and he has to talk to someone. He has no idea what the hell all these heroes are doing here but Iron Man claims to speak for Stark. He then describes what happened- he was being blackmailed by an Italian nobleman, who then siphoned off something to him... he didn't know what, he felt odd but he seemed to be... seemed to be... Simon convulses, shaking and as they rush to help him- he erupts into an ionic, purple form! He's completely stunned and has no idea what's happened- Iron Man grabs him to calm him down and he instinctively reacts- and hurls Iron Man a huge distance! Captain America steps forwards and says that it semes he has been given super powers. More character stuff, all at the mansion- Simon will stay there for now, trying to cope with his newfound abilities. At the Italian's base, he straps himself into the machine- if it worked before, it should work now. He tells his scientits to despatch the legion, and this time triple the power output into them!
Then there is news- the Legion have attacked again! Simon tells them they are connected to the Italian who was backing him, and he is towed along with them. This time, the Legion wait for them and fight them. With Simon not really able to control his powers much yet and no Thor, the battle is skewed, the heroes losing ever more... when suddenly, the Legion lose all their abilities and collapse. The heroes take them into police custody, bewildered. They agree though to go their seperate ways- the threat has passed. They may stay in contact. Iron Man tells Simon he can still stay at the mansion until this greater threat is dealt with. Cap meanwhile, wonders if they should stay united, but does not say it yet. In the Italian's base, he erupts from his chair, feeling himself exploding with ionic energy. He then speaks more and we learn more about him- he is the head of a crime syndicate, the Maggia, and with his newfound powers he believes he can easily topple the Kingpin and rule New York's underworld- and more!
The heroes go back to their solo lives for a little. There are increased crime sprees across New York, way too much to be normal- and the heroes stop them. Stark suspects it has a connection to the Italian Simon spoke of, but Simon cannot remember what happened when he first got his powers, his mind is still a blur. Stark pushes him on why he was being blackmailed. Simon eventually says he'll confess. Stark tries to lighten the atmosphere- after what Stark has done, he jokes, no deed could be too foul, no trick too nefarious- NEFARIOUS! Simon suddenly explodes- he's got it! It was NEFARIA! Luchino Nefaria! His memories come flooding back and he resolutely declares; he knows where Nefaria's hideout is!
In said hideout, Nefaria is ruling the roost, enjoying seeing his Maggia rule the streets of New York. He's busy enjoying things- when the wall erupts and the Iron Avenger bursts in, blasting aside his goons and challenging Nefaria to stop the crime spree. Laughing, Nefaria easily smashes Iron Man once- and the hero is HURLED far out into the street through the hole he made. Nefaria deftly leaps out to pursue him. He kicks shellhead's ass all the way through the streets (It also begins to rain; that's cumpulsory for this type of fight scene.)
Iron Man crashes to the ground, unable to stand up to Nefaria. Nefaria gloats- did Iron Man really think he could beat the Count alone, even if he did discover the secret? Iron Man smirks beneath the mask. Nope, he says- not alone. And of course, Captain America, Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Wasp are on the scene, contacted by Iron Man before the fight! Nefaria is able to beat off the combined assault, albeit with effort- they fight through the streets and end up in Times Square.
Nefaria responds by toppling an entire building onto all of them. As he gloats, he is suddenly flung forwards by a fist and sees.... Simon WIlliams in ionic form on the scene, having decided to come out and be a hero. Nefaria throws off his attack with effort, declaring that his friends are dead anyway. At that, there's a stir in the rubble. He turns and.... Hank GROWS for the first time to giant-size, hurling the rubble off them and freeing them. (A remark is made that he's not aunt-man any more; he seems to be a GIANT man.) They resume the fight- and AGAIN they lose, though it's very close. Nefaria gloats- "Is this the best you can do? Are these really earth's Mightiest?" Then the sky darkens. Lightning cracks it.... "THOU HAST DARED MUCH, VILLAIN!" bellows a voice. And THOR descends from the Heavens, hammer held high! "AND VERILY, THY HOUR OF JUDGEMENT HATH COME!"
Thor and Nefaria duke it out man to man. Even then, Nefaria tosses Thor to the ground, though he is now ragged. Thor apologizes to the others- they are right. He cannot overcome this alone and he cannot let pride or arrogance intrude. Cap tells the others that there's no need for all of them to die here- if he sacrifices himself, they can escape. Hawkeye says there's no need. Hank agrees- they'll work as a team, not individually. Wasp continues, they'll COMBINE their strengths and weaknesses. Thor says they'll work under Cap's command, if he'll have them. "We're all Avengers," completes Iron Man. "Just like you." Cap smiles grimly. "Well then," he says" "....AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!" They all CHARGE into battle together. GIANT battle, broadcast on the screens all around the square!
Finally, after a titanic confrontation, Nefaria is brought down/killed. The people begin to cheer wildly, chanting their names, screaming their praises. The group look around, bemused and wonder... if they really are what Nefaria said, if they really are Earth's Mightiest Heroes, shouldn't they stay together? To protect the world against threats like Nefaria which no lone hero could stand against? They resolve that they can. The press scream questions, especially about Simon Williams, who they dub an amazing wonder man! "Wonder Man..." he says, scratching his chin. "I like the sound of that." They announce they're forming a team. The press ask if they have a name. They grin. Hawkeye: "Can there be any doubt?" Cap announces that they will be called; the Avengers!
In the ending scenes, they celebrate their new-found celebrity status in their Mansion, with a letter "A" being installed on the gates. Bright, happy party music! It is clear that it is their HQ as Tony tells them he has had something special made- they find a huge table with the letter "A"in the centre. Someone points out that there are more chairs than members. Thor, Tony and Cap share a look. "We've been talking about that.... and we decided to leave room for more members. Just in case." Later, Wasp finds Hank in the lab and asks why he isn’t up with the celebration. He replies that he is just finishing off his project. Janet laughs and tells him he can finish it in the coming days. He agrees and leaves with her. As he does, the camera pans over and we can see what he was working on fully- an almost complete robot. And on it’s head is a single word.
"Ultron"
