Shiryu, I think it's kinda funny that one of the few movies you didn't have the release date for is this one-- Iron Man-- because it's posted prominently in at least two places on the main AvengersAssemble page!

I saw it, but in the official website www.ironmanmovie.com/ only says "in theaters 2008". As such I though that the 5-2 date was still uncertain.

Can anyone tell me if Stan Lee makes one of his customary guest appearances in "Ghost Rider"...? I saw it over the weekend & was trying to spot him but couldn't...

I heard he's not in it -- but who created Ghost Rider? Maybe that person is in it.

Stan the Man was recently on the NBC show HEROES in a cameo role as a bus driver. Not much of a stretch considering his past cameos

I can't recall where I read it, but I believe there is some controversy between Gary Friedrich, Roy Thomas, and Mike Ploog over who came up with what when Ghost Rider was created. I wonder if any of them are getting any money from the movie?

I had heard about it (and about Daredevil 2) and according to IMDb it was meant to come out this year. However, with no official website or anything else, I doubt it

I wonder if any of them are getting any money from the movie? Not unless Marvel chooses to be kind. Ghost Rider has been around for decades, and certainly predates the newer creator compensation models. Marvel owns him outright and has no incentive to share.

I'll be curious to see, as presumably word of mouth affects the film, what they take in on week 3, especially with Zodiac opening Friday. I am sure they'll make their money back though, as I'll bet the dvd for this film will do well.

The 300 rocked. The movie stayed pretty true to the graphic novel and had some killer fight scenes (pun intended!). Make mine SPARTA!!!!!

We saw '300' Friday. I had really been looking forward to it. I haven't read the graphic novel, but I've read the story from various sources in the past (one of the benefits of taking a Greek Civilization class!), so I knew the basic plot.
First off, the movie is just fantastic to look at. The landscapes have a dreamlike quality. I really felt transported to another time and place.
Of course the battles are the main draw and they don't disappoint. We get some amazing choreography, and unlike so many films I've seen lately, you can actually tell exactly what is happening in every scene. No blurry or obscured shots, it's all there, like some gruesome sporting event.
The actors don't have a lot to work with, but I felt they did convincing work, particularly Gerard Butler as King Leonidas. I'm not sure the voice-over narrative was all that successful. it seemed a little too hokey.
I also thought the portrayal of the Persians as a bunch of depraved freaks was heavy-handed, but from what I have heard, this comes directly from Miller's graphic novel, so if anyone is to blame it's him. The tendency to demonize enemies is a human trait I'm not fond of, so this bothered me a bit, but it's not a big deal, considering the very black and white nature of the story.
All in all, I really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it..as long as you like seeing extremely buff men run around hacking on people with swords!

Rumor has it that Thomas Jane (Punisher) worked out for half a year and trained to get ready for Punisher 2, read the script and walked right off the project it was apparently so bad.

Technically there's also "Wanted" based on the Mark Millar comic book but they've totally ditched the small super-person aspect that was part of it.
New pic of Iron Man people in character at SHH!
