There is a real soft spot in my heart for these -- when I was a kid there was a TV station out of Chicago that played all of the Marvel Super-Heroes cartoons, plus the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon. It was great fun to see these characters "come to life"! Yeah, the animation isn't much -- in fact, it's really just the panel art from the comics tweaked a little here and there. But it sure left me wide-eyed when I was 8 or 9 years old!!!

I know the animation isn't much, but the writing is dead on. It's what made Marvel comics great back in the day.

The introduction by Stan Lee is truly amazing. That man is one of the greatest storytellers of all time.
You have to love the theme song. Its right up there with the Hulk's.

For whatever reason, it stands out in my mind that it was Channel 44, obviously before they went Spanish-language. They used to show all reruns, like the Munsters and Adamms Family, the 1950's Mickey Mouse Club, the Banana Splits, and the aforementioned Marvel cartoons. They also showed White Sox games before the team went to cable-only broadcasts in the late '70's. Of course, I could be wrong and maybe it was Channel 32 (which I also watched a lot!!).
At any rate, I did some looking on amazon.com and found the Thor and Sub-Mariner cartoons on VHS. They seemed to only be for sale from the secondary dealers and were for a hefty pricetag. I did not check around on Ebay, but think I might! My nostalgia meter is registering off the charts : ;D))!!
What is Norway by? I have never heard of it!

I loved those cartoons!!! In NYC back then, Cap was on Monday, Hulk on Tuesday, IM on Wednesday, Thor on Thursday (of course) and Subby on Friday. Cap, Hulk and Thor had the greatest theme songs --I remember them to this day. A couple of years ago I read the whole series was going to be released on DVD, but then the project was dropped.
