Marvel has just announced today that two-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton has signed on to play Bruce Banner in Marvel Studios’ new big screen adaptation of THE INCREDIBLE HULK. The film, which is being directed by Louis Leterrier and distributed by Universal Pictures, is scheduled to smash into theaters on June 13, 2008.
Under the visionary direction of Louis Leterrier (Transporter 2, Unleashed), The Incredible Hulk will return to the roots of the long-running comic series and television show.
The story unfolds when the pursuit for The Hulk – the world's most misunderstood, primal force of fury – heats up, finding Bruce Banner on the run attempting to cure his condition before his pursuers capture him. Filming is slated to begin in Toronto this summer.

I didn't like the 1st one... I thought it was the worst comic book turned into movie that I've seen (Well, with the exception of Steel..), but I'm willing to give the new one a chance...

I think a lot of people felt that way Bong. From what I have heard, this movie will be something of a reboot, with much more action.

The new interview at SuperHeroHype makes me a bit wary.... it talks about the Hulk is definitely a future Avenger in an ideal world. Now on the one hand that indicates original roster, sure.
But it also makes me fear a "All Marvel Hit Squad" JLA approach which might include... you know it... Spider-Man...

And don't forget Wolverine -- Hugh Jackman is allegedly starring in a solo flick.

Hopefully that doesn't leak into an Avengers pic though it probably will.

Here is a plot synopsis for the upcoming (June 2008) Hulk movie:
THE INCREDIBLE HULK SYNOPSIS Univesal Pictures has released a synopsis for The Incredible Hulk, the Marvel Studios film it will distribute next year.
Here's how the film is described:
"The explosive, action-packed adventure in one of the all-time most popular superhero sagas unfolds with a cure in reach for the world's most primal force of fury: The Incredible Hulk. We find scientist Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) living in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote. But the warmongers who dream of abusing his powers won't leave him alone, nor will his need to be with the only woman he has ever loved, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler).
"Upon returning to civilization, our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination (Tim Roth) -- a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk's own. A fight of comic-book proportions ensues as Banner must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction. And on June 13, 2008, one scientist must make an agonizing final choice -- accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or the creature he could permanently become: The Incredible Hulk."
Production of the film -- written by Zak Penn and directed by Louis Leterrier -- is expected to start next month in Toronto.

By the way, is the reason for the complete cast change known ? I really didn't like the first movie, but Bana himself didn't seem too bad as Bruce Banner, and Betty Ross was good too. With a better script, they could have kept the actors, unless something else came in the way.

I think they want to distance themselves from the first one as much as possible. I know I would, especially if your trying to promote it as beter and more action oriented than the first, nothing says revamp like a new cast.
