My hope is that we get the classic story of Doom stealing the Power Cosmic. That would be AWESOME. Of course, the problem remains... how will they do Galactus?
Time will tell.

I did find it odd that there was no mention of an actor or any CGI effects for Galactus. I wonder if he will be in the third film, perhaps to seek revenge on Doom and earth for losing the power cosmic (?).

That has to be the best title change in history.
The re-imagined Doom has lots of potential. I could see him being a little more like his comic book self now that he's back in Latervia and has had his plans crushed once.
I don't really expect to see Galactus unless there's a third movie. He's simply too big a character to jam into a plot, and is too far outside of public knowledge to be able to use without a movie worth of build-up.
I can't even figure out how you would design Galactus into a movie. Half the time the character looks stupid in the comics themselves, let alone in a movie. All the same, I love Galactus. He honestly has to be one of the greatest characters Marvel ever put out. I love his whole spiel.
I'm envisioning a movie where the Surfer appears and examines the Earth. Doom steals the Power Cosmic and the FF have to stop him. That's a classic storyline that can be done without the Big G, but leaves it open. It's also a good arc to show off the Surfer, what with the soul searching and the moralizing and the general coolness.
My dream would be the conflicted Surfer getting his power back thanks to the Fantastic Four, only to shoot a blast of power into the sky and tell the FF that their world is about to die as the movie ends abruptly.

I'd like to see Galactus look like a huge floating statue that hardly moves. He would communicate via telepathy and be very cold and alien.

So is the Dodge Fantasticar available on the market?
I like it. It seems like it would fit in the Fantastic Four's movieverse.

The Fantasticar looks alot like my Dodge Intrepid.... if it was a covertable.
Awww I was going to send the link for the FF2 trailer. It got pulled because some guy filmed it in the theater and put it up on the utube. Looked nice, Read and Sue were about to exchange vows when the Surfer flies over, so Reed sends Johnny after him. Nice chase scene.

Last night I caught a commercial for FF2, and they showed the Surfer, with a voice over saying, "everywhere it goes, 8 days later the planet dies...". They also had someone say "How do you stop something that eats worlds?" And they show Reed saying "We'll find a way" (or the equivalent). So even if Galactus isn't actually seen in the movie, it seems his threat is definitely felt!
I really hope this one is good; the first one to me was pretty weak, mainly because they completely screwed up Dr. Doom. I'm hoping his involvement in this one is minimal.

The good doctor was much more ripped from the Ultimate universe than from the MU. Anyone else notice that this is the way some things seem to be heading at Marvel, particularly with their new animated films? I don't care for the trend that as a franchise evolves the movie makers try to shove more and more into each film. I think the fourth Batman film suffered greatly from this (among other things!) -- Batgirl, Bane, Mr. Freeze, and Poison Ivy all making their debuts. In Spider-Man 3 we'll get the Hobgoblin, Venom, and Sandman. Just too many storylines!!!

I caught the new commercial last night during Heroes, and found my excitement really building for the movie. I really enjoyed the teaser trailer, and can't wait to see what they really do with the Surfer and Galactus on-screen.
I too felt that Doom was "off" in the first one, but does it suprise anyone that Marvel is retooling everything more toward the "Ultimate" style? From the cartoons, to the games, to the movies... maybe Joe Q and the folks at Marvel just felt that was the way to go with things in order to be more accepted on the mainstream. I always loved the "real-world" aspect that Marvel had over DC. They saw how well Ultimates did, and the X-Men and Spider-Man movies (hell even Daredevil wasn't all that bad), and they figured they need to retool the whole MU to an even more realistic landscape. I don't like what they are doign to years of history, but I can at least understand and appreciate the effort, if that is indeed their intentions.
However, here is where I expect that sinking feeling in my stomach to be a true gut instinct... look for Doom to play a major part in the sequel (which that has pretty much already been stated I believe), and you are probably going to see the whole "Doom trying to steal God-like powers" storyline... i.e. trying to steal Galactus and/or Silver Surfer (willing to be he first aims for SS, then when Galactus is discovered he shifts his target).

Spider-Man 3 looks great. When I first heard they were going to have not 1, not 2, but 3 villains, plus Capt. Stacy and Gwen, I had a moment of doubt. But then I remembered Spidey 2, and placed my trust in Raimi!
Seriously, Raimi gets the essential core to the Spidey mythos and has an obvious great love for the characters and the history. Despite what seems like an overwhelmingly large cast, I have no doubt he will pull it off.
