I know this isn't really old enough to as a classic in age, but I want to review it as one.
This issue takes place at the end of the Kang story, which is a great story, even if it did get a little spread out.
This issue deals with victory and the price you pay.
We get to see Warbird, once again in front of an Avengers hearing. This time however we see aWarbird taking responsibility for her actions and trying to stay out in front of trouble. This is much better than her last appearance here.
This is the first time I've actually liked Triathalon. Reuniting the two others with their friend from the past was a nice touch.
This story does not ignore the enomorous loss of life that always comes with war. I like that they don't skirt that issue. We should always be aware of the price.
I was surprised to learn of the death of Duane. It makes sense that he was in Washington but I was still surprised.
I loved Thor throwing a surprise banquet. He had been really mopey about the nature of his relationship with humans but Firebird let him have it. He came back around and was the Thor we all love.
The final scene where Cap, Wasp and Iron Man pay their respects at the memorial was nice. I liked that they were able to pay respects to an individual rather than a group with no face for them.
This was a very touching issue and I can give it no less than 10 Loonies out of 10
