Why don't we share some of our favorite websites relating to the Avengers (or other comics sites as well)? If you know of a site that you use for reference, or one you just find particularly entertaining, post the link on this thread. I'll start with two of my favorites -- The Silver Age Marvel Comics Cover Index and a website that indexes all of John Buscema's art. www.samcci.comics.org/perso.wanadoo.fr/michel.maillot/Buscema.htm

Whoa -- I don't know. I've looked around here for some ground rules, but don't see any. We can certainly stop this right now if I've done a no-no.

You are right, there doesn't seem to be a rules post. I'll list a few good urls, and leave it to the boss to delete them if considered unappropriate. They are non Avengers websites anyway (not to sound buyst, but Avengers Assemble is the best one I've found on Earth's Mightiest Heroes anyway). So www.marvunapp.com/appendix ---> The appendix to the Marvel Universe is a stunning site, with thousands and thousands of detalied profiles on minor (and not so minor) characters, including alternate realities, alternate earths ecc. www.immortalthor.net ---> a nice Thor website, with cover gallery, character profiles ecc www.uncannyxmen.net --> As the name suggest, an X-site. It has over 1000 detailed issues reviews, not just of X books, but of pretty much every comic with a mutant appareance. www.samruby.com and www.spiderfan.org --> Two very nice Spidey's sites. The first one has an amazing cover gallery, the second some in depth stories reviews. www.leaderslair.com --> Found it just 4 days ago, and I'm still exploring it. It's Hulk devoted, but has large sections on other magazines as well. www.internationalhero.co.uk --> A wide site, with a lot of international characters from minor / not-so-popular publishers. It includes a bit of everything, from tv people (Buffy, Angels) to Timely characters. www.manwithoutfear.com --> A large Devil site www.ffplaza.com --> For the fans of the F4, once again character profiles, cover galleries, reviews etc www.comicboards.com/marvelguide/ --> A bit of a research website, with characters bibliography, good for continuity purposes, but not as big as www.chronologyproject.com/ (the marvel crhonology project). www.ironmanarmory.com --> On the armored avenger www.marveldirectory.com --> Once again a characters guide, a bit out of date though

That's certainly fine with me. I have no problem with listing other sites. I have a fairly long list of this type of links on the LINKS section (go figure!) of the AvengersAssemble site (though some of them may now be outdated). www.avengersassemble.us/links.htmlAs for rules in general, I hadn't really thought about it-- there hasn't been any need thus far. If we ever get to that point, I'll post something. For now, I just am going by the general rules you see everywhere, about being polite and civil to one another, and so forth. Posting links is fine as long as it fits within the topic of that section of the forum. I reserve the right to move or delete stuff of that nature that is grossly out of place, in terms of the topic at hand. Thanks for raising the question, btw.

Now, I´m throwing in my two cents: www.steveenglehart.comThe work of Steve Englehart, not only comics. Steve makes some annotations to his stories. Of course, nothing negative, but at least his first Avengers run is brilliant. www.maelmill-insi.de/UHBMCCThe Unofficial Handbook of Marvel Comics Creators. An invaluable source of information, I think. To quote Markus: The UHBMCC is a collection of data for all comics ever published by Marvel Comics (at least that is the long-time goal). We present the titles, dates and - most important - the names of the creators that brought us our favorite stories. Please enter to get more informations. www.geocities.com/marvel_villains/Bad guys. Alas, no longer updated.

I know it, very nice site. Pity it's so widespread on many servers, more often than none one of them is out. I had to download it all on my pc to surf it without problems

Yes,m this interests me as well. While I always have spiderfan and FFplaza for my other two major interests, I have been lacking an Avengers one.
Thanks for the links, guys.

I like www.marvelcomics.com. It might not be an unbiased site but they have a lot of neat content and it gives a good idea of upcoming things.

Here's one I came across the other day. It's DC-oriented and contains information about Superman and Batman artists, the characters in those books, and other information on various Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age DC creators/characters. There's even a timeline--starting from 1835!--that traces the evolution of comics. www.supermanartists.comics.org/

Thanks for the links. Unlike Marvel, there aren't many good ones for DC characters.

this is one that is just starting up: www.independentcomicssite.net/ I'm actually one of the reviewers and editorialists. If you're interested. We could actually use a few more hands as well.

It's sad for the fans, but at least the guy has his priorities straight. I wish him the best of luck with his relationship.
