(Forgot to post this, a couple of weeks back, but felt it was worth adding. --Van)
ULTIMATES 2 #10: BRILLIANT. Most of the stuff Millar was doing that ticked me off in Volume 1 is missing from Vol. 2-- or else I've just gotten used to it-- but the annoying stuff is completely absent from ULTIMATES 2 #10. In its place, we see an ultra-resourceful handful of Avengers--err--Ultimates in what I would describe as one of the most brilliantly plotted conglomerations of super-hero set pieces I've read in years. Reminded me of nothing so much as the amazing Bullseye scenes from DAREDEVIL (the issue with Elektra's death). Great, great writing. Each of the set-piece scenes in this comic would have had me doing a little dance around the room, if I'd thought of them for something I was writing. Taken together, they make for an incredible comic book issue. Dance your dance, Millar. You earned it. BRILLIANT. (who'da thunk I'd ever feel that way about ULTIMATES?!?!)

I completely agree with you, this is great entertainment from Millar. And it gets even better every issue. The Ultimates are really the outstanding one of all the ultimate titles, Millar seems getting approved writing whatever he wants to, and it´s not even a Max series. But, as long as it sells that good Marvel will barely complain.
Merely, I liked Hitch´s art better on the first run, but then, in the meantime he has become some kind of a sprinter. ;D
