Anyone happen to pick this up? I missed the # 0 issue, but I picked up # 1 by chance to see if it's anything I'd be interested in reading either over the next year or in trade format. It's really good! Got kind of an old-school vibe to it and it was a lot of fun. You "old farts" ( ) might like it.

I hadn't planned on buying this book but decided to give it a try. As usual, JMS spins a pretty good story. I'll definitely check out issue 2. I'm curious to see how these World War II characters, with their ideas on heroism, sacrifice, and patriotism, will fit in with the post-Civil War Marvel Universe.
edited for sheer embarrassment over mis-spelling "planned"

The second issue in this series is a good read. I was particularly struck by the plight of Captain Wonder. Although we have dealt with the 'man out of time' before (notably with Capt. America), this is a very realistic and emotionally honest portrayal. How horrible would it be wake up one day to discover that your spouse, your kids, all your loved ones, were dead and gone? Add to that a strange world, where everything seems different or wrong - it could drive a person right over the edge.
I'm also having fun getting to know these golden age heroes. The story behind this Black Widow is pretty bizarre, and I am very interested to see where JMS goes with it.
Is anyone else reading this? I definitely can recommend it!
