It looks interesting, I will be giving it a try.
One thing I will say for Casey, is if you like traditional Super hero stories, you usually will like Casey.

I've become a big Joe Casey fan - esspecially after his work on "X-Men: Children of the Atom" and "Earth's Mightiest Heroes." This definetly sounds like a good one for him.

I'm in the wait and see category. I really think that the Marvel Comics Group as it exists now is a dismal failure and a shell of it's former self.
The Last Defenders looks promising, but in this very ugly 'Pig Iron Age" Marvel finds itself, I'm skeptical.

I'm intrigued by this, probably enough to buy at least the first issue. I used to enjoy Defenders as a kid, although it was never on the same level as Avengers for me.
Casey was elusive about the line-up. Since we see Nighthawk in the pencilled page, I guess we can count on him being there (and isn't he working for the Initiative now anyway?). I wonder if we might see Valkyrie - I'm not even sure whatever became of her. And what about the Gargoyle? They can all claim to be 'real' Defenders. Although a Defenders without Dr. Strange has never seemed right to me. I loved the relationship between him and the Hulk. I mean, even as a kid, I knew that Hulk was there to get people to buy the book. But you could also sort of justify his presence there due to the fact that Dr. Strange seemed to be able to keep him under control - a feat the early Avengers couldn't manage.

My sentiments exactly, and an exalt for use of the term "Pig Iron Age" -- that made me laugh! But alas, it's probably appropriate!! ;D

So Nighthawk, Colossus, She-Hulk, and the Blazing Skull are the Defenders.
Anyone think the roster should've had someone better than the rest of the characters on the roster.

OK, Nighthawk was a member, but those other guys never were (were they?). So basically this is the "New Avengers-ing" of Defenders....hmmph.

They could've put Moon Knight on the roster, Why Colossus is on the roster my guess is that he left the X-MEN and joined the Initiative.
But no one will know the reason until the story comes out.

I'll buy it, but I want Gargoyle and Val, too!
