Back in April when all of the avatar changing was going on, I asked ua2 (now Doctor Bong) who he more resembled -- his former little red monster avatar or his present incarnation. His reply: if I were to choose a Marvel character I approximately look like, I'd say Fabian Stankowitz (just his looks, not his brain, unfortunately...) or perhaps Foggy Nelson... Below is a pin-up of the JSA as drawn by my pal Don Kramer. I was the model for Alan Scott, and Don did a pretty fair likeness (although my jawline's a little softer than ol' GL's ). So who in the world of comics would you say you most resemble?

That's a great piece of work -- but I don't know just how to answer your question.

Bah, no comic artist can capture the greatness that is me! Besides, how many tall chubby guys with puffy cheeks do you see in comic books?

Brilliant! and thusly exalted! I'd probably be more of a Dr. Faustus if he had more of Commander Riker-ish type beard rather than the Freudianesque bushy one... and of course if was brown and not red.

More like Jen Walters than Shulkie, although maybe not as short, and with longer hair.
No, I do not have a giant egg-like head like my namesake!

Not to brag, but I probably most resemble Captain America -- or any other blond, blue-eyed, strikingly handsome superhero. Except I'm 5'9", not 6'4".

I want it registered that I COMPLETELY resent that image! As for who I REALLY resemble.... well just picture your generic guy with glasses and dark hair. There's nothing particular I can think of. Incidentally, Phantom is cool. But you get an exalt for the RSC

You know, I am never sure if the real Doctor Doom looks like Freddy or like Julian McMahon with the little, bitty scar on his cheek. Personally, if something blew up in your face, and then years later you had monks put a red-hot iron mask right on your kisser -- I'm thinking like Freddy Krueger. Now, as for you, Doom, you didn't give me too much to work with (just your usual pomposity ), so I had to stretch out a bit. I'll see what I can come up with.

Depends on what you mean by young. I was born before they landed on the Moon, son! Yes, me too. However, despite the Reed Richards-graying temples, my students are always surprised that I am past 40 -- perhaps it's because I usually act like they do!

Personally, if something blew up in your face, and then years later you had monks put a red-hot iron mask right on your kisser -- I'm thinking like Freddy Krueger. Ah yes I can address this. The "Stan Lee" school of thought says that he was horribly scrred and mutilaited from the explosion. The "Jack Kirby" school of thought says he has only a tiny, tiny scar but he is so vain he views it as a marring of himself. The "John Byrne" school of thought is the compromise- he got a tiny scar from the explosion but the red hot mask gave him a hideously scarred visage. The most recent retcon, done in the masterful "Books of Doom" states that he was actually hideously scarred indeed, not by the explosion of the machine but by the touch of Mephisto. However this was told from the PoV of a faulty Doombot, so it's doubtless coloured by Doom's own perceptions PLUS this being an imperfect copy. Personally I am of the Stan Lee school! Well there's not much there. I mean, I'm really so very ordinary looking. In fact, basically think what if Peter Parker had gotten older and still needed the glasses. But beyond that, Bruce Banner works great And as for pomposity, I'm going to assume you mean my bombastic nature as opposed to any sort of dig on my fragile self esteem

Brilliant! and thusly exalted! Thank you! You’re so kind.
Night Phantom: There are so many ways in which that image is wrong. I shan’t try to catalog them all, but I’ll tell you one very important way: I’m not nearly that friendly! How fortunate that I finally got to working on my long-absent avatar this weekend…
As though there were any other kind…
