I just wanted to know how many of you are/were playing heroclix.
I uesd to be judge in my area but then they sold the product to a trading card company and everything became profit driven. I've since let it go completely.
How many other fans/players are out there?

Oh boy, tht brings back memories. I used to be part of a group that played Hero Clix. It was quite the obsession with us for about a year. Then City of Heroes came out and I decided that computer crack was better than plastic crack. But some of those figures were really cool. A friend of mine displays them on a bookshelf, all attacking that huge Galactus figure that was only available at conventions!

the Galactus figure was actually the beginning of the end for me. Limiting availability to drive sale was such a hose job on the loyal Herocrack addicts it weren't funny.

We went to Wizard World LA in 2004 mainly to obtain a Galactus. But we walked away empty handed. The whole process was ludicrous. From the information we got, they had a total of 25 figures available each day of the con - and you still had to buy $100 worth of product to get it. People were going nuts and it was really ugly. My pal eventually got his off ebay.

I only played with coupla friends, never got real serious with it and only played a few times. I got into HeroClix mainly to collect the figures. I bought cases of the first 6 or so Marvel sets, and sold some of the extras to a local comic shop. Bought the ones I was missing from the shop or online to complete each set. I know, I'm a whacko collector. I made 3x3 boards (drilled out one and glued onto a whole one) so the figures could fit in them, and built a cheapo cabinet to fit them in. I didn't get the last coupla sets though. They're still "neat" and "cool" when folks come over to see my comic room.

After I got out, I sold my complete sets along with my accumulated special figures to pay for mounting medical bills.
