I've always liked Thor's classic outfit, but it loses a lot without cape and helmet. Spidey's red and blue also is such a classic that I have to go with it. This being said, if they were real, it would be difficult to take most of them seriously with those outfits ^^

I'd say jkemble & sharkar also seem to have taken at least a temporary leave of absence... American Avenger, the AAer formerly known as uberwolf, has also been conspicuously absent from this board for some days now...

That's onyl a few days though Bong, the others have been missing for much longer. Yellowjacket is another forummer who takes long leaves of absence before returning. I thought we'd lost Doug for a while there!

While Doctor Doom's is AWESOME, I have to say Moon Knight. C'mon, I can't be the only one who fell in love with the character purely because of the incredible costume. Which one do you prefer, Doom, the version where we see only the crescent moon on his chest & his utility belt, or the one with the Egypcian artifacts added (the ankh & golden belt & bracelets)...?

I thought we'd lost Doug for a while there! I know--in one of his recent posts he strongly implied that! While acknowledging Shiryu (who does a great job moderating) and Van, and everyone else who makes this a lively, stimulating community, these boards just wouldn't be the same without dlw's steady presence. To quote from one of my favorite shows (Seinfeld, natch): he's the nucleus, he's the straw that stirs the drink, he's the -- well, you get the idea...

The kind words humble me.
I easily fell in love with this site when I found it -- the opportunity to engage other "true believers" in conversation about a passion of mine that I've held since childhood has been wonderful. "In person", I have one friend who I can talk to about comics; he's in the industry, so he's very busy. Our conversations have been few and far between the past 2-3 years, even though he lives three blocks from me! It's been a good relationship for us since high school (over 20 years now!), but I miss the regular interaction. You guys (and gal) fill in those gaps.
And as for stirring the drink, I add what I can and when I see the boards die down for a day or two I try to add a new topic to picque some new conversing. That is all. Many others make just as many contributions and certainly on a greater level than I. Hey, many of us enjoy a good needle directed at Doom or W from time-to-time, but where would we be without them?? This place just wouldn't be the same!
Can someone pass me a tissue?

O.K. so Spiderman was already mentioned. Next, I guess Captain America. Pretty unique. Cap seems not to care his outfit can be seen miles away, like the Red Baron's biplane in WW1. They both think skill alone, not stealth wins the battle.
