so it takes less thought to jump on a thread and be needlessly critical, OK. Makes sense. Feel free to post your 5 at any time. No one will be critical of YOUR choices. I never criticized anyone's choices. I only criticized what I perceived to be your criticism of me. SHEESH Obviously, I was wrong in thinking that you were actually upset about the honorable mentions but it's nothing more than a miscommunication. As for my top 5: 1. Ultron -They don't get worse or better (Depending on your definition of either). I love that he came from Pym's lab and that, his evil resulted in something as good as the Vision. I'm even willing to give the new female version a chance. 2. Sandman- I was actualy a bigger fan of him in his hero days and am happy to see at least a partial return to this in FN Spider-man. I can't wait to see him in the movie. 3. Impossible Man- As someone else pointed out earlier, he's not really a villain but he's not really a hero either so he has to go somewhere. The basic thing is that I have a hard time resisting any title he appears in. 4. Galactus- He's just the biggest and the baddest. I especially loved the story about a year ago where he came down in human form. I'm glad he didn't stay that way though. 5. Grim Reaper- I'm not sure why but I think I just like the way he's so tied in with Wonderman and the Vision and how his motives are so misguided.

The someone else on Impossible was me, and you nailed it, if I see him on a cover, I gotta have it. Wasn't it Rick Jones wedding that HE invited all the bad-guys to?

Yes it was... You know, Nuttie, that issue of the Hulk (along with the previous number, where we see many heroes & heroines at the bachelor & bachelorette parties of Rick & Marlo) is among my favorite comic books of ALL time... God, I Love Peter David!!!

that is probably one of my favorites of all time, I'm not a hulk reader, but as I said, I had to get it once I knew Imp was in it.
It was such a blast, badguy shows up. Everyone gets ready to fight. Badguy shows invite. All is well.
Mix well and repeat.
It was just good comic.

I think my actual favorite Impy appearance was in New Mutants (I recently referred to it on another thread but I can't remember where or why). The thing that made it so great was the ending. After a long battle of "Anything you can do I can do better" with Warlock, Warlock beat him because he could change colors and Impy couldn't.

I had forgatten that one, but it was a good one as well.
Wasn't there also a crossover with Superman and the Silver Surfer vs. Imp and Mitslflik<sp?>

That one was very good as well, spiderwasp... And there was another one which was very similar to the one you're referring to, in a Superman/Silver Surfer special, where Impy teams up at the beginning with Mr. Mxyzptlk but ends up having a similar duel with him, involving heroes & objects from both their universes...

I guess I shouldn't call you "Nuttie" before inquiring about your size first... Wouldn't want to be put through a wall, after all... I'm only 5'11", perhaps I should call you "Mr. Nut, Sir!"

Ultron -- Always a mega threat, but too often treated as a simple headbuster. The Oedipal angle is an edgy and underutilized character trait which is unfortunately being thrown out with the "Girltron" revision. Highly dangerous because he has a built-in reason (being a robot with a transferrable consciousness) to always return after defeat. Korvac -- Appeared for one arc which made him an immortal Avengers villain, although he wasn't a typical "villain" by a long shot. Should never have been brought back. Kraven -- A lot of people will immediately think: "Huh?" I'm including him here to pay tribute to what superior writing can do for a villain -- or any character for that matter. Dematteis took a washed-up punching bag and turned in what IMO is the greatest curtain call for a villain ever. I'm not even a Spider-Man fan, and I think "Kraven's Last Hunt" may be the best single arc Marvel ever produced. The Red Skull -- Has stood the test of time as the only major Marvel villain from the Golden Age still appearing. And he's a Nazi. What better villain is there than a Nazi? Baron Blood -- The only villain better than a Nazi is a vampire Nazi. OK, maybe I'm betraying my tremendous fondness for Cap #253-254. Somewhat in the manner of Kraven's Last Hunt, Stern and Byrne took a fairly minor Marvel villain from "The Invaders" and crafted a superb, lasting story. John Byrne at the height of his powers -- Cap rearing up to decapitate the Baron with his shield -- wow! Those were some d**n good comics!

I think they did a good job with Kraven there at the end. His hunter persona was quite compulsive, so it is almost natural that he progressed to that state of dementia he wound up in.

In no apparent order... 1. Doctor Doom, whats a favourite villian list without him? 2. Galactus- Same as above 3. Magneto- An intelligent and sometimes disturbingly understandable 4. Cassandra Nova- She really scares me 5. Wanda Maximoff- Can I count her? Shes pretty cool

While I wouldn't go so far as to say Kraven's Last Hunt is even the best Spider-Man story out there, it is 100% definitely a classic and deserves far greater recognition than it possesses. In my humble opinion it is a better story even than "Daredevil: Born Again" and the likes, and I'd say it's without question the darkest Spider-man story ever, darker by far even than 122-123.

I'd say
1: Galactus (even though I don't think he is actually a villain per se) 2: Dr Doom 3: Ultron 4: Magneto 5: Red Skull
Mainly because I like serious, world threat level villains. Another one that seemed interesting, the only time I read him, was Ultimo. One I don't really like is the Green Goblin, I definitely prefer other spider villains.

...YOU DARE PLACE DOOM SECOND TO THAT MERE "WORLD DEVOURER".
If Doom so desired it, Galactus would scrub Doom's toilet!

In no particular order. I have always enjoyed "working-class" heroes, so:
1) Absorbing Man 2) Sand Man 3) The Wrecking Crew 4) Tombstone 5) Loki
Does that seem odd?
