I see a lot of bad mouthing the character (mine included) and it's a shame because I finally took an extended look at the mini series. I read the first issue and it wasn't my thing , but a friend had the entire series and I was staying over so I read it. Overall, not bad, or terrifically great either and am still happy I didn't buy it, but the point of the series made the Sentry this wonderfully tragic character who had to be nobody to save everyone. There were also nods to a Superman like character in the Marvel Universe and how boring it made everything to have such a perfect hero who could literally fix anything except himself. A fun experiment that deserved to stay in its own little place. But BENDIS kind of ignored all these points and took every inch of charm and interesting parallel out of the character by just exploiting the super powerful and extraordinarily f'ed in the head aspects. However Paul Jenkins the creator (along with Jae Lee) told a much more interesting story with a definitive beginning and end that BENDIS chose to ignore. So let's not hate the Sentry. It ain't his fault that BENDIS ignored everything that made the character interesting and just made him into "needs therapy Superman."

Just like Bendis ruined Luke Cage. He went from a guy who rose up from the mean streets and the prison system, and who cared about the people of NYC, to a hood-rat, foul-mouthed, baby-daddy....... and oh yeah, leader of the (so-called) Avengers!!! WTF, Bendis??
