Thought I'd kick a new one off for the new year. I'm finally starting to get back into comics, though my buying will be irregular for the next month or two.
But anyways, here's what I'm buying monthly:
Captain Britain and MI13
My new favorite comic. Great characters, fantastic chemistry, nice premise, witty . . . it has me salivating for the next issue!
Captain America
Smart and surprisingly relevant. I'm loving this book, even though I've fallen quite behind.
Uncanny X-Men
Every time I leave, they pull me back in. Currently, the comic is very Bendis, in that it reads better as a whole than as single issues. But that being said, this X-Men title has injected a nice shot of optimism into the X-franchise that as been missing since Decimation.
X-Men: Legacy
Or, as I like to think of it, the redemption of Professor X. Nice trips down memory lane, great characterization by Mike Carey, and generally a strong comic. Definetly a fave of hardcore X-Fans like me.
Astonishing X-Men
A little weird, but still has me. I'm behind in this title as well. Wait. What's that? Oh, this title is behind. Nevermind.
Wolverine Origins
While the first third of this series is a little weak, it's finally started to pick up. Wolverine's actions are starting to stir in not only the X-Men's world, but also the overall Marvel Universe. I still think there's room for improvement -- especially with Romulus.
Fantastic Four
Not as groundbreaking as I wanted it to be, it's comes across as more of a FF lovefest. Some fun, awesome adventures that work towards Millar's strength.
New Avengers
I wasn't quite sure about sticking with the Avengers titles, but after the most recent issue, I decided to stick with it (http://vplexico.proboards60.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newavengers&thread=2320&page=1#28415)
Mighty Avengers
I'm really curious to see Dan Slott's take on this more traditional team. I'm not completely sold, but I'll give it my usual 1-3 arc pick-up before I make a decision.
(I normally give new creative teams one arc to impress; even they do, then I give them three arcs to really keep me hooked)
Dark Avengers
I'm more curious than anything else.
What about the rest of you? This includes trades, too.
