Just a quick heads-up that a future team of Avengers plays a role in Alan Davis’ current limited series Fantastic Four: The End (the first two issues of six are already out). The story takes place at a time when the FF have drifted apart, and Reed has helped usher in a time of utopia on Earth. The Avengers are hopping around the Solar System in pursuit of enemies wishing to sabotage this new society. The roster: - Founding FF’er John Storm a.k.a. the Human Torch, the Avengers’ leader
- The Vision (“classic”)
- Thor (ditto)
- Iron Man (no longer having an organic body, his consciousness can possess robotic hosts)
- The Silver Surfer
- A silver-haired woman in a red and blue Mar-Vell costume, answering to the name “Ayesha”
So far, the series has been following each of the founding FF’ers in their separate lives; with Johnny—er, John now one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers have been getting a fair amount of panel time. I’ve been enjoying their appearances, with the team’s being portrayed (in my opinion) in the classic manner. I’ve been enjoying the non-Avengers parts too, but I think the Avengers scenes have been the most fun!

I want to know the Iron Man story. Why is everyone else fine but Tony Stark lost his body? Was he the only human victim of the Mutant Wars?
I'm a big fan of Sue and Namor interacting, but I think the real treat has been the double-page splash of the Senate for Galactic Unity (or something).

Maybe we’ll find out Iron Man’s future history tomorrow, when #3 is due.
I agree: the Parliament for Galactic Unity was fun to see.

No Avengers in #3 really, but I agree I liked them in 1 and 2, even though it's hard to accept that Johnny is not just a member... is the leader ! In issue 2 we also see Spidey and Cap, both alive and well, and, seemingly, retired.

In #3, John and Norrin are on Avengers business—but without the rest of the team present, you don’t get that Avengers feel. And even Norrin seems like a non-presence. #3 also shows some retired Avengers: T’Challa (also in #2) and She-Hulk (also in #1). #3 also has Crystal, still among the Inhumans.
