I am going with X-Men, primarily because I came to that first-hand. The Legion issues that Dave drew came later for me (after they were published). BUT, I can say that in terms of influence on both books, I would mark the two as equal. His costumes and interpretations of the various characters heavily influenced Mike Grell and John Byrne, and laid the groundwork for golden ages in both books.
Favorite X-Men moment -- #100 when the new team takes on a group of X-Sentinels in the guise of the original team. A truly memorable cover, as well, for this then-11-year old consumer!

What a loss for the comics community. I voted for his Legion work. It is where I first saw him - and those were the only DC books this former Marvel zombie would buy! His character designs were always great.

I have never read his Legion work, so I voted for the new X-Men. A lot of the credits for the early days of those characters goes, probably rightly, to Byrne, but I'm sure Cockrum had much more influence that it is widely known now.

Shiryu, thanks for the link to the article. BTW, that Uncanny X-Men site is one of my favorites (after this one, of course). Their "Spotlight On" character histories are very detailed and they have a great biography for Wanda (though they don't have a bio for Pietro, even though almost every other mutant under the sun is covered!).
Anyway, back to the topic: I can't really choose my favorite Dave C artwork, it's all quite good...so like the rest of you, I will choose the book that gave me my first exposure to him: for me, it was the Legion.
