There's been a lot of talk lately on different threads about how unsuccesful most romantic relationships have been between superpowered individuals... So my question is: if you could put back together any superpowered couple, who would you choose...? My vote goes to Jan & Hank. I would love to see some happiness coming Pym's way, plus , I think over the recent years he has earned his redemption, even if Marvel's uberhack extraodinaire hasn't forgiven him yet.

Vision and Scarlet Witch. It was cool when the Master of Magnatism's son-in-law was a robot (of sorts)

Never was a huge fan of either Hank or Jan. It seems like there really aren't that many obvious choices out there. Hmm. If I had to choose it'd be Hawkeye and Mockingbird, but unfortunately she's dead.

As much as I am a fan of Hank and Jan, I'd actually like to see them each move on. I think there's a lot of potential in each character without having them each be only half of a whole. My choice would be Quicksilver and Crystal. As has been stated elsewhere, they are much better together than apart.

I enjoyed the wise-cracking marriage of Mockingbird & Hawkeye as well, redstatecap... I always tought it was kinda stupid, pointless & merely done for "shock" value the way Mephisto, kinda in an afterthought, offed Mocky... Why, come to think of it, it reminds me a lot of the way in which Hawkeye himself was disposed of in Disassembled!

Please let Hank and Jan stay apart from each other! Do anyone really wants a Chuck Austen to come along again with lame stories about spousal abuse... Hawk and Mockingbird are a good choice, but my pick would be Wanda and Simon. Busiek wrote such a great relationship between those two, I never got why at the end of his run he choosed to make they go separate ways.

Some clever writer could come along and write a limited series of their adventures together in the afterlife in their pursuit to return together to the world of the living. But it looks like Hawkeye is already on his way back next NA.

Though for some reason ;D I should vote for Hank/Janet, I´d choose Clint/Natasha. Maybe because they both are not superpowered, maybe because their relationship was too shortlived and never really looked into (as far as I remember).

The walking dead Avengers (Hawkeye and Mockingbird plus Ant Man II, Doctor Druid and Captain Mar Vell).

Congratulations, you get a karma point. RSC

Maybe because they both are not superpowered, maybe because their relationship was too shortlived and never really looked into (as far as I remember). Shiryu, that's a great suggestion! I agree with you...as far as I know, that relationship has not been revisited or re-examined, though perhaps it was in one of the Hawkeye solo series (I haven't read these but I understand at least one issue looks back on his relationshipwith Natasha). Though it was short-lived, it was a pretty intense relationship. When they were antagonists of Iron Man (in the Tales of Suspense stories), it was clear that Natasha was leading Hawkeye around by his you-know-what. Hawkeye was always presented as a reluctant, "misunderstood" villain (as were Quickie and Wanda, over in the X-Men book, at around the same time). Anyway, Clint and 'Tasha were an interesting couple in the IM stories and were featured fairly often, attesting to their popularity with readers. Then Hawkeye became an Avenger in #16 (without Natasha). In #29 Natasha reappears and she basically becomes a mainstay in the book. Her presence in the Avengers book was the catalyst for Hawkeye's maturation as a person and an Avenger and really helped to put Hawkeye on the map as one of the better-known Marvel characters at that time. He became the heart of the Avengers (much like the Thing was the heart of the FF). Roy Thomas really seemed to like writing Natasha and she played a prominent role in the book for about a year. She was very different from most of Marvel's heroines at that time: she had a more defined personality, was colder, and seemed more intelligent and resourceful, than say, Jan or Wanda (who was bland and one-dimensional back then). The Widow promptly became a focal character in the Avengers book; an entire plot was built around her (spanning from #38-#44). Then, inexplicably, Roy had her retire from the superhero biz (#45-#46) after which she made very sporadic appearances in the book (or anywhere in Marvel). She resumed her BW identity in #57 but still made only sporadic appearances in the book. Then in #76, she tells Clint "it's over." It really came out of the blue. I guess business-wise it was done to free her up for her own feature (in Amazing Adventures), but storywise, it made no sense. She said something like "I never loved you" to him. Then in Spider-Man #86 and AA, she explained it by saying she had to divest herself from her past or something like that, but it never really made sense to me. The new Earth's Mightiest Heroes 2, the starting point of which is #58 (when the Vision joins) is supposed to contain some material about Hawk and 'Tasha's relationship back then.

Not that they were ever a couple, but I always wondered about Wonder Man and Rouge. In her first appearance where she fought the Avengers she couldn't absorb Simon's Ionic power, making him one man she could touch and not kill. Always thought that would have made an interesting story.

I always wondered about Wonder Man and Rouge. Really? I don’t recall his having a penchant for lipstick and cheek blush… Having Simon get interested in Rogue, the woman who took Carol’s personality, would be particularly interesting since the (old) Vision, the man who took Simon’s personality, showed interest in Carol! And remember: both men were interested in Wanda. And Simon already may be headed for romance with Carol (indeed, they were a couple in House of M). Who needs romantic triangles when you could have romantic polyhedrons?

A rouge may be a rouge under any other name, but you ARE certainly a rogue, albeit a highly entertaining one, Space Phantom!

I liked the way Busiek was playing with the same romantic entanglements but seemed to be saying new things... this would be in the same vein as that. I like it!

Put one letter in the wrong place.... With my typing, I'm lucky if anything is spelled right.

Relationships? I thought those were just to attract female readers.
I usually only skim read the balloons and captions about relationships.
