Whoa, whoa, whoa -- I just got to reading that cut-and-paste a little more closely. The first time I glanced at it was to see which Avengers issues were there, and if there were any FF's, too. But NO CONAN??? How can you do a Marvel book on Buscema and not have any of his Conan work in it???

That was my first thought, too - does it contain any Conan? But then, it should have been some b/w Swords material (Buscemas best) and that format wouldn´t fit the book format (I think).
Seems to be a nice collection with a lot of arcane stories I would not read ever otherwise. I would have liked it containing some of Buscema´s Tarzan material. Does anybody know here about the Thomas/Buscema Tarzan material? Would it be worth buying?
Maybe the reason for not containing any Conan nor Tarzan material is Marvel hasn´t got the licences any more.

Good guess on the licenses issue. Last I knew Dark Horse had the licenses for both properties.
Speaking of Tarzan, Dark Horse has collected Joe Kubert's run on Tarzan in the DC days. The hardcovers are very nice, mimicking the DC Archives look quite well.
Marvel has put out a second volume of Marvel Visionaries for Jack Kirby -- perhaps they will for other artists as well.

I too think it's because of the licenses. Anybody knows if this book is in color or in b/w ?

I knew you would be hung up on it if it was B&W!!!!!
These books are very nice, and really pretty affordable, with a retail price of $29. They sell for less on various Internet book dealers or Ebay.

You guys hit the nail on the head, it´s because of the licenses.
Marvel can´t even reprint books with Marvel Universe characters that co-starred Conan, Sonja or Kull (like some MTU and What If issues).

And I find it strange that Dark Horse CAN reprint the Thomas/Windsor-Smith/Buscema Conan as tpb's. Surely Marvel must get some cut of the profits, not to mention royalties to the individual creators...
This would also explain why there's been no Essential Conan offering.
