Can anyone discuss the redeeming values of this "art"? And this is supposed to keep the Avengers franchise at the forefront, as the X-Men are?

It speaks to me... like an Art Instructions School commercial.
"YOU TOO, CAN BE A MARVEL COMIC BOOK ARTIST!!!"

Sigh! There was another artist for #5, and it was much much better!! I hoped it was a change of artist, but apparently it was only a guest thing.

Weird! Part of me wants to like it . . . but it looks like a children's book.

It's neat. Unusual, for sure ... but I think my favorite part is the coloring. I wouldn't spend 3 bucks for a book full of it, not with so few words to go with it. But I do like it in a way. It's not realistic in any sense, so I guess it's somewhat expressionistic. The colors especially give it all a sort of dream-like quality. I'd like to see this team do some far out Dr. strange stories.

You'd almost want to call this Manga, but it looks more like Mangled
I guess this is what passes for oldschool homage art at Marvel these days.
