As reported by Newsarama, the US Postal Service has released an image of its 2007 Marvel stamps: As you can see (if the image displays), several individual Avengers past and present are depicted on the stamps, though not in the context of the team itself. In fact, of the characters receiving individual portrait stamps, only the Silver Surfer and Elektra have not been Avengers. I’m amused that the cover paired with the Wolverine character stamp is from the original X-Men #1, long before the Wolverine character existed!

Every one of those individual stamps ties in with a movie in existence or in some form of pre-production/production. They look nice! I wish, however, that they had gone with Daredevil and Thor as opposed to Elektra and Spider-Woman. Bendis was probably clamoring for a Sentry stamp

Are these currently on sale or are they still forthcoming?

I would have liked Thor too, but they look nice. Would be great to receive a letter stamped with one of those !

I'm just pleased they used a Dave Cockrum Wolverine image. A nice salute to a recently deceased great...

I really enjoyed the DC stamps, but it pained me to put them on my phone bill. These are really nice too. For these, I might have to get a set to keep.

I assume the 39¢ pricetag is not final. (The base first-class-letter rate jumps to 41¢ May 14. I remember when regular comic books cost less than standard postage does—and I’m only in my thirties!) Will the stamps come out on a Wednesday? Will there be signed editions from Dynamic Forces? Will there be a cover variant? I'm just pleased they used a Dave Cockrum Wolverine image. A nice salute to a recently deceased great... For similar reasons, I’m pleased there’s a Captain America image…
