With my apologies to Tana for the immature boyishness of this thread. Who has been your favorite lady in this book? We've touched on this in many other threads, so I thought I'd consolidate it. Mine would have to be Mantis,... I am kidding. I have to go She-Hulk. Must be all that green.

In order: 1. Wasp - best leader next to Cap 2. She-Hulk- Always good for spicing the book up 3. Scarlet Witch - The Wanda I knew and loved, not the post disassembled version, of course 4. Crystal- This one surprised me as I had never been a fan before 5. Hell-cat- Okay, she was barely even an Avenger, but I'm still a fan
Best villain is definitly the Enchantress. Morgan LeFey comes in second because of her role in the return of the Avengers after the disastrous Heroes Reborn fiasco. She triggered the start of new and better days. Boy, we could use her now.

I have to say, in this order: 1) Wasp 2) Cystal 3) Mockingbird 4) She-Hulk 5) Tigra 1) The Wasp I love whether she's on her serious leader mode or when she's being her more light, casual self. I would argue that Clint might be even a better leader after his time with the Thunderbolts, Spiderwasp, but in my estimation a big part of leadership involves other people's perceptions and, in that sense, I would agree that for most Avengers it might still be hard to get past Hawkeye's cavalier attitude, and so they probably would rate, like you, the Wasp as their 2nd best overall leader... She was particularly admirable & effective during the Kang War. Also, all that variety of sexy outfits doesn't hurt! But I didn't care for her using the Pym particles for growing or her tryst with Hawkeye; man, Clint has become the Casanova avenger...!!! 2) Crystal (and her daughter Luna) I grew very fond of during Harras stint on the Avengers; plus, I dig her idiosyncratic hairband & think her powers are cool, although they could use some better defining. And even though, more & more, it looks like Marvel is prepping her to be Miss Idaho (as pointed out by dlw66) my fondness for the character hasn't diminished yet... 3) Mockingbird, as I've mentioned elsewhere, I loved for her witty banter & humor (one of the best, IMO, this side of Spidey) and for aways calling Clint on his bull & ego trips, in other words, for helping him enormously in keeping it real, as most good girlfriends & wifes always do... At the same time, she was very much her own person & not just Clint's companion or sidekick... Needless to say, I HATED the casual, gratuitous way in which Mephisto offed her... 4) She-Hulk I began to love while she was written by Byrne, during those whacky adventures & all that 4th wall demolishing; and I must say she seems to be an easy character to write, for I've pretty much enjoyed enormously every book or mini she's starred in since. Her friendship & interactions with Jan hold a special place in my heart. And then Bendis had to make her tear apart the Vision... 5) Tigra: well, I have a thing for the cat family in general & tigers in particular... Hmmm... Must be all those stripes... But I prefer her without a tail or tufts on her arms & legs...

Ms. Marvel. Probably a lot more should have been done with her over the years than has been the case. I think she has the potential to be "Ms. Avenger" the same way Cap is "Mr. Avenger." Not to drag the whole discussion up again, but #200/Ann#10 never should have happened, should have been fixed a long time ago, and still should be fixed. In the past I was of the opinion that she'd be a good match for Cap. Not so much any more, but I do still think that Cap is a natural to play Carol off of in terms of character interactions. You could do a lot with them butting heads. I'm not sure the alcoholism development was really a great direction to go. Meh. There's still a lot of potential here. I only hope she's recognizable when Bendis is done with her.

I always thought She-Hulk was a good team player, whether in the Avengers or the FF.
I liked Captain Marvel and wish we could've seen her full potential on display. I think she really should be a powerhouse.
I couldn't stand the ditsy Wasp, but when she became team leader she was very interesting.
Firebird as handled by Busiek in vol 3 brought some interesting elements (no pun intended) to the team.
I liked the conflict that both Mantis and Sersi brought into the team more than I liked the characters themselves!

Couldn't stand Mantis. Sersi was a fun one, but better played more lightly rather than seriously.

Wasp, by far. After Stern's run she was one of my favourite, right behind the core three. She dropped a bit only because she keeps referencing to then Hank slapped her.
Firestar, from Busiek run. Very down to earth and yet interesting. I would even say that, eventually, she would have been a good leader.
Monica Rambeau, once again a woman with a very strong and original personality.
Songbird, from Avengers Forever
Enemieswise there is not that many. I'd say Enchantress, at least until I can think to someone else.

1. Stern's Wasp 2. Englehart's Scarlet Witch 3. Stern's Captain Marvel 4. She Hulk by anyone, she's consistently a good character 5. Black Widow as an adversary by Stan Lee and Don Heck. Love the black wig and cape.

Wasp. Carol would be second and Wanda third, but Wasp will always be up there for me.

Monica Rambeau and Wanda Maximoff. Moondragon is interesting too, because she can be friend or foe, ally or pain-in-the-@ss.
