This is a good run for me because it brings in one of my favorite groups, The Eternals.
Starfox and the Wasp crash a party in New York. The party as it turns out is hosted by Sersi. She gets called to return to Olympia but she won't go. The other Eternals send a squad to fetch her home and Starfox and Wasp are taken along in the fray.
Meanwhile back at baase Vision is still laying the work for his takeover that we know is coming up.
When we go back to Olympia we find out whats going on and Starfox and the Eternals both learn things from each other about their combined heritage. Then the Eternals do the Uni-mind thing.
Enter Mealstrom and Deathurge. They want the power of the Eternals and the Avengers fight against them. After everything is concluded most of the Eternals head off into space and a handful remain on earth. The Avengers and Sersi head back to NY
high-points for me First time seeing the Eternals in this series Premiere of Sersi, who I like More shots of Captain Marvel as a butt kicker. Development of Starfox's character. I never much liked him before, but now that I have access to these older issues I find I'm liking him as a fighter, tho' I'm not too crazy about his manipulative power.
overall I give this run 7 Loonies out of 10

When I read these issues, I recently, I was surprised to like them as much as I did. The covers aren't that great, and I've never been a big fan of the Eternals. I love to read first meetings between major characters though, so when I realized that this issue had the first meeting between the Avengers and the Eternals (20 years into Marvel continuity), I was fascinated.
A lot of the credit here goes to Roger Stern's scripts. I also liked the premiere of Sersi. The AVengers kickin it at a party. The secret history of the Eternals revealed felt like an old Steve Englehart story.

I liked these issues. To me, Stern's run really started taking off here. #250 onward are great stuff. Futhering of the "what is the Vision up to?" mystery kept me very interested in these issues. He did do a great job with Captain Marvel.
I don't know if the uni-mind was created here, or if it had previously appeared, but I thought it was a very interesting concept.
For some reason, the Eternals remind me of the New Gods. Were the Eternals created by Jack Kirby?

For some reason, the Eternals remind me of the New Gods. Were the Eternals created by Jack Kirby? Yes, Kirby created the Eternals. A recurring theme in Kirby's work is the "enhanced" race/group of beings. His Tales of Asgard stories, as well as his creation of the Inhumans, could almost be looked at as "trial runs" for his later work on the New Gods and Eternals.
