I was wondering if someone could help me find this comic:
When I was very young, the first comic I bought was an Avengers comic. I loved it and read it over and over when I was in elementary school or right before I started 1st grade. I think my mom tossed it but here is a brief description of it:
The Avengers are seperated into different periods of time... I think Thor was on a Viking ship and Hawkeye was in midevil times. I think Cap America was back in the war with Bucky. I don't remember anything else.
Anybody know what issue this is?
It would have been early 80s.
Thank you! Shane

I'm drawing a blank. I've read every Avengers issue ever put out, and have seen all these scenarios in individual issues, but never saw them all in one issue together. Either that or I'm just senile.

I checked the cover gallery on this site to see if anything jogged a memory for me -- nope. Are you sure it was an issue of Avengers and not like Marvel Fanfare or one of the team-up books or mini-series of the 1980's?

It doesn't ring a bell to me either... I remember some of these individual scenarios, but not all of them together. Having said that, if time travelling was involved, it could be a Kang / Immortus issue, which should somehow make the search easier. I'll check in my database at home and hopefully post something useful tomorrow.

Yeah I'm thinking this must be some non-Avengers comic like Fanfare, too. The whole Thor on a Viking ship thing is throwing me bigtime as far as a mainstream Avengers book is concerned. Hawkeye was in Mideval times during the Busiek/Perez 90's run, which puts that storyline squarely out of the 80's realm, and Bucky/Cap stories are a dime a dozen but they never (to the best of my recollection) ever overlap the other scenarios. I think I'd remember, to be honest. That's how big a nerd I am.

Well, based on everyone's answer, it may not have been in the Avengers. I wish I could remember more. I definately remember Thor on a ship, Cap & Bucky in some sort of war (assume WWII) and Hawkeye in setting similar to Robin Hood.
I appreciate everyone's help. I going to go crazy if I can't find the comic!

Wow, that was an amazing result. I flipped through a lot of Avengers / Marvel [something] stuff, but didn't think about an A. appereance in another book. Well done !

Makes you appreciate the work Peter Sanderson, etc. have done in the past on the Handbook of the Marvel Universe, the old series Marvel Saga, and on and on. You really get a grasp of just how convoluted comic book continuity is when you start wrapping in guest appearances, team-ups and all.

Let's not forget AvengersAssemble's own Sean McQuaid, making the bigtime at last! ;D

Props to him -- I was looking over all of his work on the site just a day or so ago. All I can say is WOW... Very useful (and very time-consuming, I'm sure!!) resources.
