The space between the chest and the arms is huge ! It looks like they are going to fall

Yes, in a standing pose the figures do look odd. However, what you are seeing is a joint that allows the arms to not only raise out to the side to 180 degrees, but also come forward to the point where he could almost clap. So, if you wanted to get a little fishing line and hang him from a shelf or ceiling, you could do some really cool poses. This particular joint has become standard on most of the Legends lately, and you're right that it is a bit disconcerting looks-wise.

My personal favourite EVER is the Marvel legends Walmart Exclusives (HAHAHAHAHA! Available in EVERY shop here across the pond ) Thor. The only figure I have picked up and not been even a little disappointed with. Perfect- especially the hammer. The only niggles I have are that after a while is right leg weakens so that it is quite loose, and his right hand is very loose so that after a while he is always carrying Mjolnir to the right, the hand falling that direction. But the figure itself is fantastic. I must confess, I abandoned my Avengers-quest to pick up the FF instead. Far less members, far less expenses On that note, I actually ended up purchasing the FF from their own series rather than Marvel Legends. They are based EXACTLY on the art of my favourite run, the Waid-Weringo run, and The Thing especially looks great, plus the best Johnny Storm figure I've seen. I am currently seeking an Invisible Woman, as the only GOOD IW figure I can find is in a box set I have no wish to buy (For some obscure reason, series 1 of the FF was released with four figures. Ben, Reed, Johnny.... and.... THE SUPER SKRULL! . ....Yeah.) You can find fantastic galleries of ML figures on www.marvellegends.net

Yep, that's how he looked at his very first appearance, in the issue with Gwen Stacy's funeral ! Am I wrong or, at the time, his source of powers was pure and simple training ? I heard it was later retconned to something else.

Well looks like I have a small selection for Wave 14, that being only Falcon, and a bigger grouping for wave 15, that being Beta Ray Bill, Moon Knight, Wasp, Captain Marvel and maybe the alternate Spider-woman.
Of course then there is Hasbro's Wave 1 that has Hercules in it, and wave 2 that has King Thor, and Quicksilver in it.

Doom -- have you ever seen the Thor from Series 2? He IMO far surpassed the recent issue from the Wal-Mart series. He is larger, and although his face leaves a little to be desired, he towers over Iron Man and Cap, and looks like he could give the Hulk some serious trouble! I didn't care for the recent Thor because I thought he was too small.
The upcoming Thor from Hasbro looks awesome!!!

DLW66- I have actually, but I much preferred the Walmart one. I choose my figures very carefully, and well frankly: Well, Thor looks flat-out glum and depressed, the hammer is fairly basic, there are only four of the discs on his front and they're blue rather than silver. On the other hand, with The only complaint I have is that his face looks a little feminine.

Doom -- generation gap!! In the Silver Age, the thingies on his chest WERE light blue.
Neither face is exceptional, and the newer hammer is cool. But as I said, stature is lacking in the newer version. Isn't Thor supposed to be 6'7"? I think the newer one is not too much taller than Iron Man or Cap.

Touche, but it doesn't explain there only being 4! I don't care about height, I buy based on what is the closest likeness to my favourite version of the character- hence my Marvel Select Doctor Doom being taller than most of my heroes!

Doom --
I display my figures by team, so scale is very important to me. In regard to the Diamond Select figures, I have not purchased any, but wouldn't hesitate to buy Thanos, the Watcher, or the upcoming Mephisto. While I think most of their releases are very cool (the Doom one is great, BTW!), I would not display them alongside the Legends. The three I mentioned, however, have a scale that is appropriate for the Legends (although I wish the Watcher was more in scale with the Galactus BAF).
In regard to scale, my opinion is that Wonder Man is too small, as is the Vision. Juggernaut, while a very impressive figure, has arms that are way too large. ToyBiz did that with early versions of the Thing and the Hulk as well. For my money, the first Cap, the first IM, and the first Thor are perfect, along with the Giant-Man BAF to display as "the founders".

No, but seriously I do take your point about scale. Though myself, I prefer, as I said above, versions closest to my particular favourite version of the character. Everyone has their own way of collecting, I guess.

Yes, Cap has had founder status for years. It was discussed in detail at the beginning of Volume III, I believe. Thor, Iron Man, Hank Pym, and the Wasp decided long ago that since the Hulk lasted such a short time and since Cap has come to embody the spirit of the team that he should be given founder's status. I believe Vol. III kicks off with the grand opening of Founder's Park or some such thing...

Not quite, the park is around issue 8 or so. Volume III opens with attacks from Asgardian creatures to each and every Avenger. This prompts the group to reform properly. In issue 4 the group meets Duane Freeman, the new federal contact, to make the new roster, and Hank explains that Cap now has founder status

Yes, with that having been one of the first issues I read I REALLY should have known that, lol.
But anyway, I sitll don't think, in my OWN opinion, we can count him as one of the founders. it's entirely up the individual of course.

Technically, I agree. But, I understand the spirit of the decision. My guess is that Cap has been in more issues of the Avengers than Thor or Iron Man. Anyone know this to be true or false? I'm sure it's on this website, even, if I just go look around...

Check out all of the upcoming releases from ToyBiz (I think this is their last series, although there could be one more before Hasbro takes over). I don't care for the Wasp wings when she's full-size. I also don't like that her "iconic" look (red/blue costume) is the variant. I do like that the variant of the Thorbuster Iron Man is the Destroyer!! www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0610/24/index.htm

Just to note- FINALLY, in the new Hasbro series we are getting a full-sized Yellowjacket! And a Hercules! DLW66- Nice. Moon Knight may well be making my list. I mean let's face it, the guy just looks freaking cool Spider-Woman I must confess I SERIOUSLY don't care about. I now hear this woman constantly referred to as an A-lister but at this stage she just annoys me. Beta Ray Bill rocks!

Doom --
Don't you think the variants should have been the regular issues (with the exception of Mar-Vell)?? The white Moon Knight and red/blue Wasp are much more iconic.
Bill is very cool, but I probably won't get him (although I would like to have Modok). I'm an anti-Simonson guy...
I am very much looking forward to what Hasbro has shown us so far. The new Thor may be the best yet, and Hercules and YJ look pretty good (although they could improve the front of YJ's costume). Quicksilver looks good, but a little small. The Blob and Annihilus BAF's look awesome!!!

Except for an oversized Wasp, the "Galactus vs everyone" looks great !! Mar-vell is very nice too, while the others I don't care too much for, even though Beta Ray Bill seems very well done.
Yep, it's true. I think it's somewhere in the main website, he is been active in 326 issue in V1 and in most of V3 so he is definitely the top scorer issues wise.
Are we still the only 2 who have it ?? wasn't someone else going to buy it too soon ?

Aha, thank you for the heads up, dlw66!
TIme to race out and buy the figures I don't yet have in the current series before they're all replaced. <browses store> Light wave for me, just Zemo and possibly Falcon.
More pressing is that (also in the article you linked me to) Face-off series 1 has arrived! Cap/Red Skull, here I come!
Thanks again for telling me!
