Thunderbolts is a great series. Only up to issue 38 so far , but I'm liking it better than the Avengers. There, I said it... better than the Avengers. But of course it's probly just because it's new and different. Next week I'll be back to the Avengers and how much Bendover.. err.. I mean Bendis sucks.

Better than Lee Avengers, Thomas Avengers, Stern Avengers? I’m not so sure. Better than Busiek Avengers? Hm, now there’s a question… (Better than Nicieza Avengers? Probably…)

I still have to get back to Busiek Avengers only read the first 12 issues. The thing I like about that run is seems to pick right up from the late 70's Avengers. Let's face it, the 80's weren't a great time for our heroes. I got hooked on the team with the great Korvak, Nefaria, Red Ronin stories. Some day I'll have to go into why the Count Nefaria battle was one of the greatest ever.

I mus confess I don't like Nicieza. Seems very long, rambling and pointless. Some of the Thunderbolts I've read is alright but never great.

Nicieza’s Thunderbolts always has a lot going on, a refreshing characteristic in today’s comicscape. He’s always got an eye on history, character, and plot. My only negative criticism is that the pace is sometimes a mite fast, most noticeably in the characterization department, where the question of who someone is might blaze by.
On the other hand, I find Nicieza’s Avengers run largely forgettable. But that was a long time ago…

I mus confess I don't like Nicieza. Seems very long, rambling and pointless. Some of the Thunderbolts I've read is alright but never great. Having just read Nicieza's run of "X-Men," I can agree. Most of his stories were over complicated and way too complex for their own good. That being said, his work on "Cable," "X-Force", and "Cable and Deadpool" is pretty good. For a while, I wanted to get into "Thunderbolts," but whenever I tried, the stories were far too complex for me to jump in. Hence why I never really got into it. ~W~
