Coming next week, June 21 (finally!).
Be the first on your block to post a review here! I will be picking that up, and if you look at the other Avengers-related books, I'll also pick up the 2nd issue of the all-ages Avengers and give everyone an opinion.

For all that I simply HATED Mark Millar back during the early days of ULTIMATES (1), I ADORE what he's been doing with ULTIMATES 2. This series, for me, just keeps getting better and better. Issue #10 may well prove to be the all-time high water mark-- it will be insanely difficult to top that one-- but I found #11 to be nearly as good. A big problem I had with ULTIMATES, originally, was that I was very concerned it would overtake and replace the main AVENGERS book. Looking back now, from the NEW AVENGERS vantage point, I find that concern sort of humorous. Because there's no longer any danger of it happening--and in some ways, I wish now that it had! Seriously, though, this issue was beautiful to look at and great fun to read. Millar's at the top of his game, writing these characters, and I'm satisfied now that they're not my Avengers characters, so he can do with them whatever he pleases, to give us a good time. And he is. In sum, with ULTIMATES, Millar is able to shake up the world, and do big, bold, dramatic things he probably couldn't do with the "real" Avengers-- and he's giving us a fantastic time while doing it. This storyline may well end up being one of my favorite comics stories of all time. Van's rating: **** out of 5 stars

Agreed. Good stuff. Subplots coming to resolution, surprises, great last panel. I am thinking that my Avengers are residing in the pages of The Ultimates.

I sometimes wonder if Henry Pym isn´t Millar´s most 616-like Ultimates character, for sure he is a twisted guy. And I wonder how the new writer(s) will use Pym -- he´s so deeply involved with the enemy I think he maybe should switch sides from heroes to villains in general. And that would be a big difference to 616.
